initrd.gz locked into looking for usb-not attached.

Post by boof »

sda1 500mb fat32, sda2 3.7gb ext 2 sda3 40gb ext4 sda4 190gb ntfs

boot error, can't find partition/puppy_fossapup64_9.5.sfs after fresh install via usb.

remove usb and get error, with usb, boots sda1/2and then fails. filename is correct.

perhaps boot parameters set by frugalpup were changed, and now I don't know how to restore them.

Sda is what drive?
USB?
Internal drive with nothing but Fossapup64 on it?

You used Frugalpup Installer to do the install?

What partition is Fossapup64 a frugal install on?

You used Frugalpup Installer to install the boot loader?
If yes.
What type boot loader did you choose to install?
UEFI?
bios?
Both?

The boot loader is on sda1?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Do you have a running OS that will allow you to create a rescue USB?

If so, I know a simple solution that can get you to a FossaPup64 desktop.

Sounds like an internal sata HDD partitioned:

sda1 500mb fat32
sda2 3.7gb ext 2
sda3 40gb ext4
sda4 190gb ntfs
