When I open a Leafpad window and a Rox window and drag the icon for a .txt file from the Rox window to the Leafpad window, I do not get the edit panel filled with the content from the .txt file as I expected. Instead, I just get the path to the file ,including the filename. Dragging the same icon to a Geany window works as I expected, based of my vague memory of how Rox and puppy are normally set up.
Is this normal behaviour for Leafpad

Yes.
Makes sense to me. Geany is a multidocument editor and when you drag a file from ROX to a Geany window, Geany can just add a new tab and display the file contents. Leafpad can't do that, it can handle only 1 file. What should it do with its currently displayed file when you drop a new one on its window?
Re: Is this normal behaviour for Leafpad
First, this was a fresh leafpad window, hence a blank edit panel. Secondly, what is the point of putting the Path into that panel. It makes no sense to me. If in fact there was already some content in the edit window and I decide to drag in another file, surely it would be reasonable either to abort the operation with a message, or to append the new contents to the existing one, maybe with an "Are you sure" dialogue. Again, the path seems very odd thing to expect from this action.
What happens with other, older puppies?
