You probably mean this:
viewtopic.php?t=512

I never used it (bookmarks in the browser are sufficient for me).

@rburkartjo :-

Many different ways of doing this....depending on how simple you want it, or if you don't mind a bit more complexity to get more 'fancy' effects.

I use the Ventusky web-site for weather, which gives you real-time, animated, interactive weather maps just like you see on the TV weather forecasts. I also use Chrome and a bunch of other Chromium 'derivatives'.

One feature these have always offered is the ability to take any web-site you care to mention, and turn it into an 'app'.....i.e., it can open, by itself, in its own window. Having created your 'app', you can then set-up a shortcut to your desktop; the resulting .desktop entry is sent to /root/Desktop. You can then take the 'unique identifier' the browser assigns to any 'app' created this way, and create a launcher that can be accessed from anywhere you like; Menu....desktop (pinboard).....the QuickLaunch area against the Menu button.....even the notification area over to the right.

I access Ventusky via an executable button in the notification area. Like this:-

The above is the fancy, complex, 'geeky' way of approaching what you want to do. There are much simpler ways of achieving what you want, which are - thankfully! - much easier to accomplish.

The Chromium 'app window' approach really works better with a reasonably powerful CPU and a fairly good dollop of RAM. Just a demonstration, you understand.....to show what's possible! :D

Mike. ;)

I have been using Ventusky for a long time too. In the summer I also like https://www.lightningmaps.org/ I might have to set up a "chromeless" Palemoon window with position and size to pop on the desktop.

Puppy Linux. It just works!
Foassapup 9.5 64-(Frugal) Mobo, M5A99FX PRO - CPU, AMD FX-6300 6 core - mem,32GB - Storage
ssd 128GB M4 - ssd-256GB APS - ssd-1TB PNY - GPU GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G. Yes it's a Mutt.
