Re: When trying to browse to /proc file manager freezes
@joet12345 - this occurs in ROX-Filer. I use emelfm which doesn't have this problem.
Other filemanagers may be ok too.
If you want to see what's inside /proc, can do so from a terminal thus: ls /proc
If you wanted to see (i.e.) what sound cards there are, in a terminal run: cat /proc/asound/cards
Re: When trying to browse to /proc file manager freezes
This bug is fixed in the woof-CE fork of ROX-Filer, https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/r ... ee728d5f2e.
This will get fixed in Fossapup64 if it ever gets rebuilt with latest woof-CE.

Re: When trying to browse to /proc file manager freezes
@dimkr Definitely works in Fossapup64-9.6-CE. I have 3 just made with woof-CE and all three open /proc in ROX with success
Re: When trying to browse to /proc file manager freezes
I have two different models of HP laptop running fossapup64, and they both suffer from this freeze. I tried backi's post of disabling thumbnails, restartedx even rebooting, still the freeze /proc. Today I notice in PPM rox-filler-JUN-x86_64. Can we just install this to update this broken rox?
thanks pete
No the PPM will not allow this install of the rox-JUN to happen, I tried it.
I fixed this problem on my old laptops by loading kernel 4.19.23. If you want to go this route
follow bigpups post here (viewtopic.php?p=28103#p28103) it was very easy.

Re: When trying to browse to /proc file manager freezes
The fix is working for me.
Used Quickpet->Info->Fossapup updates
Restarted X server.
Accessing /proc in Rox file manager, now working.
Made sure to update the Fossapup64save, with this change to Rox.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected
