Fossapup programs don't agree on free disk space

Post by Grey »

A little observation. In Fossapup, the three programs show free space on the same hard disk differently.

Partview (called by clicking on the icon in system tray)

pMount (Menu>>Filesystem>>Pmount)

GParted (Menu>>System>>GParted)

Different devices. Different approach.

They are close to the same readings in my install of Fossapup64 9.5.
Fully updated using Quickpet->Info->Fossapup updates.

Maybe something to do with the hard drives internal controller.

What exact make and model is the hard drive?
Internal or external?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

3.5 inch sata. Seagate Barracuda internal hard drive(2TB). Model ST2000DM006-2DM1. Revision CC26.
But the point here is clearly not the disk model, but the way of counting.

Different devices. Different approach.
