cant get this to work downloaded from ppm. used classic install . all dependencies are said to be installed. however when click on icon wont open. i have tried removing and reinstalling but no luck. one of the best collection of solitaire and tile board games. any ideas/tks

There are even two. First idea. You have installed pysolfc_2.6.4-3. Now check if pysolfc-cardsets_2.0 is installed. The second idea is to make PET with the fresh version 2.10.1. Everything is in Python, there should be no problems.
I agree that this is the best collection and I present it to all senior citizens in the neighborhood.

I just checked in Fossapup64 in a clean install, I have 21 missing dependencies for this package. At present haven't proceeded with install.

i am at a loss. had same problem before no idea why it wont load

Run the pysolfc command in terminal. What's coming out there? Ideally, it should be like this:

Works for me in my install of Fossapup64 9.5
All I choose to downloaded and installed was pysolfc_2.6.4-3
(It did also, download and install 22 dependency stuff, and took a long time, to complete download and install)

downloaded from ppm. used classic install .

What is classic install?
If that is where PPM goes step by step.
You probably missed a dependency download and install.
Use auto install mode.

Have you run Quickpet->Info->Fossapup updates?
Save and rebooted, so changes are saved and being used?
There are some bug fixes, provided by this update.
If answer is yes, you have done this.
We need to figure out what is wrong with your install of Fossapup64 9.5

Could be missing some Python 3 stuff.
Running pysolfc in terminal, may tell you about anything needed.

Sure you have room in the save for everything it downloads and installs?
PPM is not going to give any warning, if it runs out of space, and will seem to keep downloading and installing.

You updated PPM database, before you did the download and install?

I know, I am not intending to install, just showing that there are many depenencies required.

tks grey and terr. from what i found one line a lot of others couldnt get it to work also. found the gnome aisleriot solitaire and installed

Is installing Aisleriot easier than typing pysolfc in terminal ?

No guarantees, mind, but if you load the 32-bit_compat_libs SFS, followed by running

.....in the terminal, THEN loading the games SFS, I'm guessing this little lot should run OK. There's quite a number of board-type games, if you're interested in that kind of thing (including FreeCell, which as I understand it is a version of Solitaire).

figured out what i did wrong. somehow corrupted the devx sfs so booted up puppy using the dont load sfs option. went to dave file deleted devx. rebooted into normal mode and reinstalled devx. pysolfc now works fine

Mmm... I can't remember that devx was required. On the other hand, there is the old russian(and not only) principle... it somehow works - it's already good
