hi, i have tested your latest fcitx-xenial.pet for easyos dunfell2.8.4 and buster easyos 2.6.2.i can install fcitx successfully,but it didnt work well.here is the results as the following:
1.i ran it as root,not all apps cant accept it's input ,like seamonky.
2.the fcitx didnt work with any app as spot ,and any app running in a container.Instead, you fcitx.pet works perfectly in fossapup and works well across all apps runing as any user.

Hopefully,you can fix it as soon as possible if you are available,Thanks in advance

I have tested easydunfell 2.8.4 with the Chinese pets and here are the findings:

1. yong (yong3264_20201122-en-zh-bionic-21.1.5.pet) can run in seamonkey and input Chinese

2. fcitx, ibus and scim (version 21.1.5.pet) cannot run in seamonkey. I have tried to fix the seamonkey cannot input Chinese issue and there are still unsolved issues. The temporary fix is to use alternative browsers. I have tested and found light and palemoon browsers can run and input Chinese in easydunfell 2.8.4.

I have never run easydunfell as spot. Please test using yong instead of fcitx and see if you can input Chinese.

ihave tested yong3264_20201122-en-zh-bionic-21.1.5.pet for easydunfell 2.8.4
It worked well with the apps(i have tested some basic apps like editror office browser terminal and etc) running as root or spot,but it couldn't work with the geany editor running as spot.
For the apps running in a container,it didn'work.
I didnt find yong (and fcitx) from the menu.And i couldnt find it from package manager ,which means i wouldnot know how to remove it if it didn't work

The reason why you cannot find the icake pets in the easydunfell 2.8.4 system after installing is because the easydunfell 2.8.4 package manager does not recognize "third party" pets including icake Chinese language pets.
All recent icake puppy Chinese pets were done with an unistall script included which allows the user to remove the pets after installed.

For systems that do not recognize icake pets, to remove the installed icake pets:
find the program "puninstall.sh" in /, open terminal and run this script by typing ./puninstall.sh; then press enter.

icake Chinese language pets version 21.0.0 were created to run and provide Chinese language support to easyos 2.6.2. Therefore it is recommended to use yong3264_20201122-en-zh-bionic-21.0.0.pet for easyos 2.6.2. Higher version numbers of yong pets were created later to handle other Puppy systems. Pets having a higher version number means that they were created later but does not imply that they are better. Depending on the difference between the specific Puppy system and easyos 2.6.2, higher version icake pets created to handle another Puppy system might work (when the changes are minimal) or might not work (when the changes are critical) for easyos 2.6.2.

ibus Chinese input platform: ibus_1.5.17-en-zh-bionic-14.3.6.pet (28 mb)
scim Chinese input platform: scim_1.4.14-en-zh-bionic-14.3.6.pet (20 mb)
yong Chinese input platform: yong3264_20201122-en-zh-bionic-14.3.6.pet (8 mb)

Plus 2 Chinese language pets for LxPupFocal32-21.02+9:

Simplified Chinese: lxpupffD-21.02.09-zhcn-14.3.6.pet (2 mb)
Traditional Chinese: lxpupffD-21.02.09-zhhk-14.3.6.pet (2 mb)

To use:
(a) any 1 of the 4 half-Chinese language pets will enable you to display and input Chinese in LxPupFocal32-21.02+9

(b) the name+version number corresponding Chinese language pets will give you Simplified Chinese (use zhcn pets) or Traditional Chinese (use zhhk pets) desktop menus, icon labels, tooltips for LxPupFocal32-21.02+9. Please note that all Chinese language pets rely on a suitable half-Chinese language pet already installed to the system to provide Chinese input platform and Chinese fonts. Otherwise the system cannot input Chinese and display Chinese (shown as squares).
