Re: Using APT to see what is upgradeable

dimkr I still had to use the PPM even though apt is now available. Didn't want to but apt wouldn't install a PHP module package from the Ubuntu Focal Fossa repo correctly or at all. The PPM did in about a second. This is a special case and probably doesn't indicate much other than there are some bu...

fredx181 I found out I was using YRadio-1.5 so now I am using the v1.7 appimage on KLV-Airedale-RT with the full real time kernel 6.6.0-rt15. version 1.7 will not allow shrinking the GUI window past the bottom border of the control fields and the controls section is size adjustable! Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

Best thing to do right now is begin to design the pages for puppylinux.com. Writing the actual content is the key. Some decent screen shots of various looks of the distro's and we can merge these into the GitHub location the pages are stored and the web site generated. The page content right now is ...

The site was very slow again so I looked at a known culprit, the Knowledge AI Bot that hammers at http:// URL's. In our case the Bots are making many thousands of requests to the URL http://murga-linux.com which is slowing everything down and acts like a DDoS attack. The Knowledge AI Bot only can sc...

I agree! It should be these two distro's that are the immediate "face" of the Puppy Linux world.

Perhaps through those there will be exposure to the likes of F96-CE, VoidPup's, and the entire collection.

Re: Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3

F96-CE_5-alpha3 is non-usrmerge, using AUFS just as Fossapup64 is. Did experiment with the Focal Fossa package usrmerge converter but dropped that angle for the moment due to warning messages. Not really sure what the effects will be on this Puppy Linux using the program which apparently will conve...

Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3

I was feeling down, not worthy of the lofty positions in rarefied atmosphere some Developers are accustomed too. So I did the unthinkable and skirted automation, by building mostly manually due to fears of total deletion by remaster scripts that have occurred recently, an updated woof-CE generated F...

I have never tried it. I have Grub2config 2.0.2 in KLV-Airedale and KLV-Spectr and it works well. The boot stanza's it creates are not yet modified enough for Kennel Linux specific syntax but it works well setting up Grub2 enough that manual additions are easy enough to modify the grub.cfg I can sa...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

With Fatdog64, we have an RSS feed that DW follows. Whenever we make a release, we just update the RSS feed with literal copy paste from the release notes. DW picks it up within 24 hours. Zero effort on our side, zero effort on DW side as well. I really like this idea. This forum for example does a...

I'm disappointed with the people, those who use woof-CE but don't contribute their local changes back to the project or make them publicly available so others can upstream them Guess that's me. Yes the remasters were working though sometimes some weird results. That's what makes it odd.
