Re: KLV-Airedale-sr12 with the Void Linux Kernel 6.8.1_1

Tried booting KLV-HyprlandCE-5.0.iso from Ventoy, sorry to say @Sofiya still got kernel panic, did you test from Ventoy ? Btw, extracted the initrd.gz and noticed in init that exfat is in the module list, so that seems ok (exfat is indeed not in the init of KLV-Airedale as wiak suspected), but prob...

Re: KLV-Airedale-sr12 with the Void Linux Kernel 6.8.1_1

Tested now with older Ventoy v1.0.95 and indeed same issue with KLV (kernel panic). Also tested now latest KLV hyprland with Ventoy; KLV-HyprlandCE-4.1.iso from Sofiya , result: kernel panic :( . Again, just reporting my findings, no big deal for me personally. But please anyone, test, so we can sha...

Ok, made some progress, thought about that wiak spoke about BOOTISOS folder used for Ventoy, so I created it on the first Ventoy partition and moved the KLV iso in there. Booted from the Ventoy USB and KLV booted to the Desktop .... OK, solved ? Not really, here comes the weird part ....... ...

Reported here: viewtopic.php?p=116191#p116191 ISO boot failure with KLV (kernel panic).
No idea if the problem has to do with Ventoy or/and with KLV.

Tried ISO booting sr12 with Ventoy, but no matter which option (with or without persistence, normal mode, grub mode) everytime I got a kernel panic (not syncing). Other distro ISO's boot fine on my Ventoy USB. (booting with UEFI, secure boot disabled) Anyone experienced the same ? edit; downloaded s...

Don't know if it's mentioned before already. Good having a gui for that Ventoy partitioning Fred, thanks. FYI. The one I downloaded is : https://sourceforge.net/projects/ventoy/files/v1.0.97/ventoy-1.0.97-linux.tar.gz/download , it has "VentoyGUI.x86_64" included. However, you don't need ...

Re: Ventoy Setup Guide for booting ISO/IMG files directly

Don't know if it's mentioned before already. What I prefer is when setting up Ventoy on USB that some extra space is available to be able to create a new partition formatted with a Linux filesystem e.g. ext3, I ran "VentoyGUI.x86_64" And did: 2024-04-05_16-09-20.gif (I made it 30G on my 64...

Re: Pipewire sound system setup how-to

Found a problem with the pipewire-setup package that the behavior was different when using a login manager, e.g. slim, than without. Fixed in latest pipewire-setup deb package v1.2.0, (so should work OK now with and without using login-manager). Install or upgrade (in Bookworm, Daedalus (Starter-Kit...

Re: Pseudo Full Install (testing)

Just an idea I have recently been considering for FR initrd that might easily and usefully be added to above scheme (I don't know how easy in your initrd though): I was considering having a boot option that allowed upper_changes in KL to use any name the user wanted. That way could have several dif...

@wiak
Latest save2flash for KLV is here: viewtopic.php?p=103651#p103651
For systems with systemd, e.g. KLA or KLU it's different as it needs also a systemd service file (and small other modification, if I remember well), (perhaps @Sofiya knows more).

Re: Pseudo Full Install (testing)

When booting with pseudo-full, a side-effect can be (if using conky) that conky uses much more CPU, depending how big the pfull directory is. For a new build with mklive the file /root/.conkyrc-port has been replaced with a fixed one (less complex calculations, less CPU usage). But for an existing b...

@Jasper So to be clear, you're saying that ffmpeg works OK ? (with the new openssl installed). Did you do something with ffmpeg to test ?
