Re: FBReader for Puppy anyone?

I've just tried to add my favorite book reader, FBReader to F96-CE v.4 from Puppy Package Manager. Boy, a really ugly ancient version and it crashes. Removed. I've actually only ever used the vastly better, old free Android .apk version 2.0.6 on my tablet. I really love that reader. So I'd like to ...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

No matter what gets announced on distrowatch, puppylinux.com is the first search result for "puppy linux" and needs to be updated. I think this is way more important than representation on dw. agreed and that page also needs to feature the other kennelmates (dogs, klvs etc), rather than a...

Jeff, it sounds like your are trying to set up a UEFI type boot onto a machine that only needs a MBR boot. Are you trying to keep a Ubuntu install in another partition? The community does not have a distro that is dedicated to your need. easyos and qv are developed by BarryK who is a member of the community. They allow the user to elect "lockdown" mode, purposely forbidding other partitions or drives from being mounted. https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewf...

That is basically how it was done recently, but none of the developers are keeping it going. The person(s) that produce the Puppy version really needs to be the one(s) to submit to DistroWatch. Why would you expect a puppy dev to keep a distrowatch poll going? Maybe more modest devs would like to h...

Are questions about woof-quantum-vis best posted here or in a particular spot at the github page?

Perhaps there is something at https://bkhome.org/ that outlines the basic usage of woof?

What are the nominal hardware and internet connectivity requirements to do a build?

are you using a password manager or using the new Tbird with an older save?

If you set up your account and server info from scratch with the new install, there is a lot of little misconfigs that can prevent logon.
there should be a log file somewhere that you can find and post the last few lines.
