Re: Please migrate #puppylinux users to Libera Chat.

Chatzilla in Seamonkey has been migrated, but there are 2 channels. 6667 and 6697. If you use cz, be sure to use the 6697. I have both it and hex setup tho I never see anyone on. 😝

Someone posted about this ^^^^^ earlier this year. The particular kernel was pulled off and replaced by a different version, by Oz, if I'm not mistaken.

Thx Oscar. Seems pretty neat, especially the sounds. Takes me back to those 1980's sci-fi movies. I'll try it out a few days to see if

grows on me. I like jwm too, but this might change my mind.

Worked good for me on Bionic64. Followed your directions and so far, no issues encountered yet. But, would deleting the original update links cause problems? If so, could you post them so that I could reinsert them?

Also my wifi isn't working, and when I tether my phone internet via usb, that's not working also. If you already haven't, try a different wifi tool in the network connection wizard - setup>internet connection wizard. I recently changed from my phone to a wifi hotspot. That could have been written by someone who doesn't speak english as a first language. I see little mistakes (not meant as a critcism) frequently, but overlook them, as I still understand what they are saying.

Re: private.sh search engine no longer working

I'm no expert, but my first thought was maybe some sort of connection issue. Firewall maybe. But with two different distros complaining, could be internet related. I just got a new internet service myself and now I occasionally get errors on some websites that used to load without any problem.

But you'll need to grab an older version from here. The newer versions aren't compatible for some reason.

Those mentioned are Windows versions; https://portableapps.com For puppy versions, you'd probably need to search both the old and new forums. Not to hijack the thread, is this an independent pup, not reliant on any Ubuntu or Slack distro? I’ve been sort of hoping for something like this.

Re: Cloned Xenial doesn't see Save folder (Solved)

I ran into that myself years ago. There’s a file, *edited* - named fsckme.flg, but it directs Puppy to the location of your save. That file doesn’t move or copy from one partition to another for some reason. I ended up booting into a new save, closing out of it, reboot to ram and then editing the ne...

Re: EasyDD installer for writing image file or ISO to USB drive

I don’t know if this will work, but I had a similar issue after trying isobooter. A reformat with Gparted didn’t work, until out of sheer desperation, I changed the drive from a logical partition to an extended partition. I can’t recall which was the default but I changed it from default to the othe...

Re: Cannot boot to a live desktop (USB)

Boot up the CD you’ve burned and once in Puppy, use the Frugalpup installer or one of the other tools to copy it onto your usb drive. Once you have a Puppy installed on a usb, you can use it to install other pups. For me, a cd was necessary for my very first installation.

Re: Lick Bootloader

I tried it and as bigpup said, you install it, it doesn’t install itself. There is an install button you click on. As for uninstalling, I never found a way to remove it outside of reinstalling my copy of windows 10. There wasn’t any provision for uninstalling that I could find.

Re: How large the save file could be?

No need to go that large. If you go the route of a save file, just create one about 1gb for your puppy settings and then create your documents folder outside of or alongside of your save file. This saves space in your save file plus, allows your documents to be accessed by windows or other OS if nee...
