Hmm I'm not sure what to do, am inclined towards common-use apps that serve needs and aren't too technical. Do you store your e-mails/settings in a special way?

Does your distro matter for e-mail?

I dont keep much on the server, so my local archive is rather large. I keep both outside the savefile. works with any pup. mutt is highly configurable. claws-mail is nice too.

you used etcher in bionic to make your mint? you say you had to install bionic again?

mint running slower than puppy does not surprise me, neither does a slow installer in mint.

a .pet or a .sfs would include a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications. Did you find chrome in the repo for the pup you are using? If you install a program without a .desktop file, they are not too hard to make with a text editor. perhaps someone can write a script to do that for assisting newbie...
