Re: Thunar - how to adjust column width? <SOLVED>

If you 'fix' it from your end, I don't have to do anything when I run mklive next time right? In that case, let me know if you decide to go through your to do list. I did put it on top of my todo list :D Shoiuld be fixed now when doing a new mklive build. In fact included will be the "ae...

Re: Thunar - how to adjust column width?

dcung See my EDIT in previous post, it is the cursor theme you need to change, here's also "aero-drop". aero.tar.gz Extract and replace "aero" in ~/.icons and it should be fixed (may need a restart X) edit: posted at the same time, I see now you solved with Adwaita cursor theme....

Re: Thunar - how to adjust column width?

dcung It may be because of the default theme (old Greybird theme, not completely supporting gtk3, I've put it on my todo list to fix that), same problem with synaptic. Selecting/installing another theme will probably solve it. EDIT: Correction, for me it's the cursor theme that needs changed, I ins...

@fredx181

Nope, just wondering if you are using a NVME drive installed in a PCIe adapter and if so can you boot from it?

Thanks
wizard

Ah sorry, didn't realize it's specific about when using the adapter, I just have nvme drive in my laptop.

Does your installation show up as a boot drive? If you mean the partition where the puppy is frugal installed for me, yes (also the drive where the bootloader is installed btw (FAT32 grub2 EFI) edit: perhaps you mean if it's labeled as boot drive? don't know. /mnt/home is pointing to the correct dr...

I enabled DRM earlier when running older version 11.1 (and worked ok) , then updated to newest v11.3.2 and still ok, so yes ,I think using a profile from e.g. v11.1 or 11.2 should work .

I, too, can't figure out why the internal updater doesn't work. From version 11.2 on, the internal updater does work for me. For those who don't like the automatic updates (like me ;) ), just place the "distribution" folder in the "midori" directory (same as can be done with Fir...

Re: Adding NVME drive to old desktops

Does Puppy show desktop drive icons for the drive? Yes, for me it does ok on FossaPup and BookwormPup. (but names are a bit truncated because of the name length, I guess. EDIT: on Fossapup only, but not truncated, just overlapping each other a bit)) Do they seem to mount and UN-mount OK? Yes. What ...

ponchale With earlier versions 11.1 and 11.2 enabling DRM (setting up Widevine) worked, not with the newest version 11.3.2 . Only works if you had enabled DRM on older version already (and updated to 11.3.2) , so that it is installed in the profile folder, not when you start with v11.3.2 "fres...

Indeed. I think that this forum is the best source to find the Puppy that suits you the most, there are many choices (ok, too much ;) ) (or/and any other "portable" or "frugal install concept' such as other 'Puppy-like' distros that are shared here).

What is the difference between KLV-Airedale-rc15 and KLV-Airedale-sr12 ? Which one should I try? Better KLV-Airedale-sr12, it's latest "stable release" (sr), ("rc" is "release candidate") I just noticed there is another version of KLV-Airedale using a different kernel....

Governor I agree with Mike, you really cannot expect that stuff shared on this "Puppy" Linux forum works in other distros . So if you mention something like "doesn't work on MX", it's in fact very off-topic posting, stop it. EDIT: Just to be clear (as you ask "how-to ... ?&...

Re: Built and Testing Brand New woof-CE Fossapup64

I know that Debian has some packages that fail at runtime in a non-usrmerge system because they assume something exists in /bin while in reality it's there only when /bin and /usr/bin have the same contents. From my experience, I think that apt is smart enough to detect usr-merged or not-usr-merged...

Re: KLV-Airedale-sr12 with the Void Linux Kernel 6.8.4_1

Anyway, maybe it will work also with KL_full2fr, but I suspect it won't. Reason I think not is that I note the main rsync while loop is searching through loaded sfs files, but full2frugal uses actual uncompressed Linux Mint on main partition as the root_filesystem layer. In fact, seems save2flash i...

Whilst I only tested this in Airedale-sr12 I believe it applies to all KL distros (assuming sr12 uses latest save2flash/snapmergepuppy). Though most users stick with root desktop, I do not always. I believe the script snapmergepuppy also needs the following line at the top: [ "`whoami`" !...
