Re: BusterDog + build system (no-systemd)
I tried again having loaded the devx for perl. Installed dpkg. Ran mklive with -gui selected defaults for first selection and let it run. Changes passwords at prompts, selected keyboard. Same result! Tried the full Chrome option....failed also! stemsee Did you run the appimage or the script ? I'd r...

Re: BusterDog + build system (no-systemd)
Hi stemsee, what exactly did you use / do ? I've just tested building on fatdog running appimage "mklive-buster64" (needed to install perl from gslapt first) and it went well. Running the bare script "mklive-buster" should work also, but I think it needs dpkg installed from gslap...

Re: FossaDog (Ubuntu 20.04 'Focal Fossa' LTS) 64-bit
Included in the ISO is a setup script (+dependencies) "weeinst" to easy install the grub4dos bootloader, see also here (similar): https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=464 Extract, or mount the ISO and copy the contents to HDD or USB and run: ./weeinst from terminal on the ...

Re: X doesn't start in Bionicdog since I installed Mint linux
now I have upgraded Bionicdog to focall fossa and encountered new problems... Yeah, that's asking for trouble if you ask me (Bionicdog is basically Ubuntu, ok, but isn't made for that sort of operations IMHO, unless you like solving problems ;) ) Looks like I'm the one who likes solving problems ;)...

Re: X doesn't start in Bionicdog since I installed Mint linux
Hi again small_animals Aha, full install, together with grub2, it's just beyond my experience, up to you of course but I'd recommend a frugal install, that's what it's made for and together with grub4dos bootloader it should work without problems. See also here for installing grub4dos: https://puppy...

Easy grub4dos install with concept entries in menu.lst for BusterDog and Bionicdog
Here's an easy way to install the grub4dos bootloader on HDD or USB, run script "weeinst", attached "grub4dos-weeinstall.tar.gz" This way you just need to extract or mount the ISO, copy the "live" (Busterdog) or "casper" (BionicDog) folder to HDD or USB e.g. /...

Re: X doesn't start in Bionicdog since I installed Mint linux
Hi small_animals, Sounds complicated, the way you did, maybe best to start fresh BionicDog install and use grub4dos bootloader. But first can you give some more info ? e.g. - What you did exactly to install Bionicdog - Is it frugal or full install - Post your BionicDog grub2 entry (in grub.cfg ?) To...

Or create a .desktop launcher by pasting below in a text file, change Exec= path below to what's yours, save e.g. as joplin.desktop in /usr/share/applications, save attached joplin.png in /usr/share/pixmaps. Then you can run from Menu (may need some time to apply) [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Name=Jo...

Re: A curious issue: icons in tray disappear after a while
Hi Mike, I wish I could reproduce, still it's working fine, with exact script as you have, pointing to the zoomauto.png image running from /root/Startup. I see at your screenshot that the redshift icon shows ok (also using yad --notification), other icons besides zoomauto.png too ? My version of Dpu...

Hi Mike, weird.... I cannot reproduce it (on jose's Busterpup64, works fine for me with any image), can you attach the zoomauto.png image, so I can try ? You have this problem with any other images ? P.S. I see no reason why this topic has been moved from Programming, it's a question about programmi...

Running the appimage with the --no-sandbox option works for me, e.g: /root/Downloads/Joplin-1.0.227.AppImage --no-sandbox EDIT: I downloaded the appimage by clicking on the "Get on Linux" button and then made it executable. https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/releases/download/v1.0.227/Jop...

Re: WIne32 dependency libxml2:i386
Hi gabtech, sorry, I forgot that the pinned entry of libxml2 in /etc/apt/preferences prevents installing the i386 version, so it's wrong and it should be disabled by moving it to /etc/apt/preferences.bak, see in below code. So this should do it to install wine32: dpkg --add-architecture i386 apt-get...

Re: WIne32 dependency libxml2:i386
StretchDog uses apt package manager? Then for 64-bit Debian or Ubuntu , or StretchDog use in a terminal apt-get install libxml2:i386 It may be needed first to add the architecture i386 and update the package lists, so then: dpkg --add-architecture i386 apt update apt-get install libxml2:i386 Fred

Re: Unclutter the homepage
I agree, too much cluttered, getting rid of "Dog House", "Easyos", "Fatdog" and put them in one category, something like: "Others" or 'Other Projects" (and perhaps make them subforums) would be a whole lot better IMO, btw, I like greengeek's proposed setu...

Hi keniv, it's to be expected, the purpose of the standalone "cde-package" is that it works on any Linux 32-bit (old and new).

Standalone package of gtk-youtube-viewer, v3.7.6 (.pet and .sfs, 32-bit), from Argolance:

EDIT: based on a "cde-package", so should work on any Linux 32-bit, old and new.
