Re: I repaired a USB Type-C Cable Connector

I fixed a USB flash drive, my dog chewed on! :( Used the, it will fix anything, good old Duck Tape! The USB stick was in pieces! I have also gotten bad motherboards working, by placing them in a oven, set on low temp setting. Usually a bad solder joint can be the problem. The heat helps...

Sorry, I couldn't read the text on the jpg so couldn't understand what repair was done. Was there supposed to be a link to more detailed view? imgur decided not to use direct link to the pictures. Re: The Illusion of Privacy/Security using ANY Web-browser

The illusion of privacy/security is not just in browsers but in the home too. I know this for a fact because I am also a "handyman" (I can repair various home stuff) so with this knowledge I know that the home locks are an illusion of security because of many reasons... One being "bum...

Clarity, It is not that I am alarmed or worried it is just that is how my brain works in order to find peace in my head. In the same process I find knowledge and slightly better my understanding of how life works. We never stop learning even if I was to be 90 years old but it also depends with you w...

I repaired a USB Type-C Cable Connector

It is very easy to me because I have acquired knowledge over the years how to repair stuff....all you need is a very sharp knife with a little bit of oil on it (I mean just use the finger to smear it on it) so the blade glides to cut the rubber that encases the connector... Here is the link: https:/...

Help me understand how a TV will contribute to one's PC, please. BTW: There are additional LAN tools that one can run on their PC to analyze all traffic on one's home network. My smart tv is on a "guest" wireless. That way it can't see my production/home network, and nothing on my production/home network can see my smart tv. So .. It's segmented. I put myself in the guest account and I am noticing that the download has a cap of 1mbps so that won't work for ppl ...

It might help to understand that Up/Down in that Conky panel means TX/RX. It doesn't actually mean you are downloading anything. It means you are receiving packets on that nic. These are probably Netbios, multicast, broadcast packets. In other words, you "smart tv" is noisy. I'd see if I ...

Re: How can I block LAN traffic from a specific IP using iptables?

You can try pasting this in a text terminal (console) window: iptables -A INPUT -s 192.168.0.100 -j DROP This blocks 192.168.0.100, change it to the IP address you want to block. To execute that line every time Puppy boots, normally you would put it in /etc/rc.d/rc.local but the firewall might be s...

I am not an expert on this but the GUI just works for right clicking... it does not work as a "stand alone software GUI".

So the GUI is "right click on mouse button only".

You can also use AESCrypt in the command terminal (I have zero experience with that)...

Regarding the 'blinking icon' question posed by joet12345 Refer to page page 3 and page 6&7 of the manual. When using a VPN it is important that you can rely on its stability ie there is nothing worse than using the system thinking that the VPN is active when it is not. The blinking icon is a v...

@joet12345 :- Makoto's right. That's about all you can do, and then we need to interpret the output from the terminal.
