You could backup a save folder like this: cd /mnt/home tar czf /mnt/sda6/fossapup64savefolder.tar.gz fossapup64save/ gzip should be faster but take more space xz should be slower but the backup file should be a little smaller. This is what I mean that every time I try to input a firewall rule it does not feel stable...not sure if fossa specific but I find it hard to input my own firewall rules... I need to make room in the home directory for backups because it is almost full....that option doesn't work for NTFS file system where I basically have everything saved since I use to be windoze user only :mrgreen:

By the way, in fatdog64, I installed the this fossa version VPN but the openVPN did not install/worked... so I just installed openvpn from the package manager and then it worked :)

I tried to do one earlier and when I did this "ren dd.exe dd-removeable.exe" the next step to do dd --list did not work because dd.exe got renamed to dd-removeable.exe.... the common sense just made me type dd-removeable --list and it showed my hard drive partitions but not my USB stick......

On the very first puppy boot up I don't install any software instead I reboot and do a 4GB save file for my settings. Then after I am satisfied with my set up, I back up that file and keep it in a save place to restore in the future...then I do increment changes and more back ups deleting the previo...

This example is for fossapup64 but it works for others. I use a third party bootloader called EasyBCD (the free community support): https://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/ I just put the .iso in the root of any partition and rename the iso to anything...in my example I renamed Fossapup64 to "puppyy"...

About 10MB of stuff gets downloaded I have verified it about 5 times monitoring with wireshark.
