Re: F96_4-radky6-CE Perfomance Evaluation and Finalization

F96 is meant to just be made available to bridge the gap until Jammy's can be woof-CE generated. There is one thing I would like to point out again. On recent puppies we cannot use IME with Chrome 102 or later. It is only on Fossapup64 9.5 and Jammypup64 9.7b / 9.8 by Grey that we can use IME with ...

Re: F96_4-CE 4th Gen Dev Tester with a New Kernel 6.0.9 Made for F96

Hello. I am testing F96_4-CE by rockedge. Here are my observations: 1. While it is booting, some messages which we don't usually see are displayed. Even though those messages don't affect the performance of the OS, I don't want them displayed. 2. I booted, set the timezone to localtime (not utc) and...

I am testing RC3, and as far as I am concerned, it is working fine. The interface of mtPaint is in Japanese in the Japanese environment. Thanks. Re: S15Pup - RC Discussion

OscarTalks' explanation seems convincing to me.

I wonder why mtpaint-3.49.12-x86_64_s700.pet continued to be used in Slacko64 7.0, ScPup64 and S15Pup64.
It is strange that few people have paid attention to the localization of the package.

@thinkpadfreak It's exactly the same size so presumably behaves the same vis-a-vis localisation......... Is it possible to say how the petbuild should be altered?? I am not complaining about the form of the package. Any form (pet, tgz, txz) will be OK as long as it works. But mtpaint-3.49.12-x86_64...

Re: Fossapup64-9.6-CE built with Defaults by woof-CE

As far as I know, there are only two puppies on which we can use an IME with Chrome. One is fossapup64 9.5 and the other is jammypup64 9.7b/9.8. I have long been wondering what makes a difference. As an average user, I can't think of any workaround. This issue affects not only Japanese people but a...

Re: wireless in jammypup 9.8

I suggest that you back up the vmlinuz, fdrv sfs and zdrv sfs of 9.8 to some other place, and that you use the vmlinuz, fdrv sfs and zdrv sfs of 9.7b for jammypup64 9.8. It is necessary that the fdrv and zdrv be renamed as fdrv_jammypup64_9.8.sfs and zdrv_jammypup64_9.8.sfs. couldnt make that work ...

Hello.

I am afraid the version (or package) of mtPaint included in S15Pup is not ready for localization. Those included in Slacko64 7.0 and ScPup64 are not, either.

I would like to ask that the package of mtPaint be replaced with another version (or package).

I noticed that i965_dri.so and i965_drv_video.so were missing, and added them. The two files are included in fossapup64, and probably in other puppies.

Though intel video chips can be driven by the universal "modesetting" driver, I would like to use the "intel" driver.

what can be put up as the official edition

Hello.

I think an "official edition" is what is called a "stable" version.
A lot of people test it before it is released and it has as few bugs as possible.

That is my opinion. Other people may think differently.

What is the version of jwmdesk in 9.7c?
In 9.7b jwmdesk 3.3 modified logout_gui and eventually broke it. So I installed jwmdesk 3.5.4.

I think that there are some settings which prevent using bitmap fonts, and that those settings are defaults in recent Puppies. In /etc/fonts/conf.d, there is 70-no-bitmaps.conf. Try removing this and creating a link named 70-yes-bitmaps.conf. The files in /etc/fonts/conf.d are links pointing to file...
