Just my own unofficial version for people such as your self with retro hardware.
Hi,
Sometime ago I made a Bionic Pup with a retro series 3 kernel try this:

Hi Mike,
Tested in Xenial 7.5 64bit - worked fine video and Browsing no problems - sound ok, Video ok. Exporting Bookmarks normal.
Tahr 6.05 64bit - Same above except Exporting bookmarks doen't (same behaviour as the standard portable - not a problem as this is a known issue.)
Thanks Mike for this
@Kjellinux
Have you looked at Wanderer's Corepup project.
@Ozsouth thank you for your reply and info. As a side note works in Xenial64.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply.
Hi Mike.
With Tahr when I try to export bookmarks I get strange blocky gibberish when the dialogue comes up to save bookmarks.html. I gather this is a glib-schemas issue. There was a .pet for 32bit systems. As this is 64bit is there an equivalent .pet?
Running well so far with Tahr64 6.05 - runs first time. Machine compaq CQ61 Presario.
Same here Mike been making stripped down barebone Puppies for years and just use static apps and minimal apps with them and your portables - Got sick of dependency hell also a lot of apps I don't use in my way.
You are better off doing a frugal install to flash drive. As for a barebones puppy either build one from woodce or strip a pup down using the buildins utility of preinstalled software. Then remaster to create the final barebones pup.
Always like a Devuanpup me - very nice so far on my CQ61 - thanks Jose.
Thanks Mike,
Agreed not worth the time your portable Iron will keep me going anyway
Hi Mike Walsh,
Just wondered what the go is with slimjet Browser I note that they are still [producing 32bit versions at this stage???
Yep that sucks.
Does this Chrome trick work ??? ....
Via a user agent editing extention or by starting Chromium with the -user-agent switch, remove the reference to "Ubuntu Chromium/XX.0.XXXX.XX", e.g.]
Reference: https://gist.github.com/maxwelleite - Take a gander at the widevine page listed.
Have you considered a chroot option like here:

Good idea to update PPM before installing anything though. When using your Puppy for the first time.
Wow Thank you Fred I appreciate the time taken to do this. Posting from the iso I made from this basic Jwm set up.
https://archive.org/details/devuan-live-ascii-i-386
Basic Jwm desktop has vlc, mtpaint, Audacious, gtkam, xpdf.
Tried using ascii mklive and it can't find the kernel and so doesn't complete making an iso.
Tried both scripts and made a Chimaera UEFI iso here...

If you do adopt a Puppy try Azpainter could be close to irfanview or xnview.
