@greengeek
I would settle for something that displayed the title bar of each window
Right click on the title bar and select shade/unshade (JWM). It will retain the original position of the title bar. It can also have a keyboard shortcut.

Fossil was referring to Brave, not uBlock origin, but I'd read the whole thing: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/ ... Extensions
Try Whaw. I've mentioned it before. Works well with JWM. No it's, not a one-click solution, but it's quick enough once you've got used to it.
You could run Htop, press F4 (filter) then enter .sh in the box. It will show any running process containing ".sh" in the name, which is likely to be at the end.
Go to the main menu, Desktop > Customise Look and Feel.
You can change themes, font size, cursor etc.
Changing the font size for GTK2 will change it for GTK3 as well, and vice versa.
You can also open the FatDog64 control panel, and change the global font size under 'Appearance'.
Very good, like this a lot.
Minor typo 'lenght', but apart from that, no complaints at all.
No, the wex pet.
Was the USB stick mounted? An obvious thing, but easy to overlook at first. I have a desktop symlink for a programme on a partition which is not mounted on boot up. It shows as an orange triangle with an apostrophe until I mount the partion.
I found I could directly record from the inbuilt microphone after unticking the X11 video selection. Didn't have to touch anything else. It is checked by default, and would not record any audio until unchecked.
Oh I know how to do that. Was just pointing it out.
Under the Network tab, clicking on FAQ does nothing.
Looking in the .desktop file, it points to a file (Networking.md) which doesn't exist.
Code: Select all
##Exec=defaultbrowser /usr/share/doc/faqs/Networking.html
Exec=mdview /usr/share/doc/fd-help/Networking.md
Networking.html is still there though.
Just be aware that Clarity's solution won't involve using a physical CD. It wll be booting the iso from some other medium.
The files are in the same folder, but Cobaka is first running them through xxd (which I think has something to do with hexdumps). This means it is not really a diff problem, as another process is involved.
That's why I suggested just using diff.
Why can't you run diff on the 2 files directly? As in: diff -q file_S15X file_S15Y.
To be honest I'm not sure a menu entry for htop is worth the bother. Can be just as quick to open a terminal and type htop (not even worth using tab completion).
That's the way I usually start htop anyway.
I have a dodgy external USB drive, that loses connection occasionally. As it was not unmounted, when it reconnects, it uses a new mount point. This will increment each time it happens. I usually just delete the unwanted mount points (when unmounted of course). This does look like a hardware issue.
@Philh
I'm sure I'd tried that a hundred times, but I must have done something in the wrong order. Anyway, thanks for that. Works with the arrow keys too.
It will work in list view, but can be a little fiddly. If you get the pointer between the files and it stays as an arrow (not a hand with pointy finger) then you can drag and select.
Not a very sophisticated approach, but try unplugging the power supply, see if the indicator changes, then plug back in. I don't have Slacko, but on Fatdog the battery indicator usually goes red when full, until I 'reset' it as described.
This is not necessarily 'normal' for Linux, but this may help (if you have 6 or more fingers):

An alternative is to try whaw. Former Puppy dev Jemimah included it one of her creations some years ago. It is a simple mouse controlled utility to arrange selected windows in either a horizontal or vertical tiled layout.
'Apps' was removed when Barry combined all the package managers into 'pkg'.
That was nice and easy. Helped me finally clean up my avatar.
@szept
See Caramel's explanation above. As the post mentions, it must be done for each MIME-type, which can be tedious.
