Re: Has anyone found a virus in Puppy Linux?

@dimkr

I would like to be able to do what you have done, but I got stuck after a WPS Office SFS I created didn't work (missing library that was there), so stripping a complete OS and building it back up is beyond me at the moment.

Re: Has anyone found a virus in Puppy Linux?

Malware scanners search for known malware, but nobody is actively looking for new and unidentified malware in Puppy. Therefore, antivirus scanners don't have signatures of Puppy files and probably won't find anything even if there is something malicious in a Puppy ISO you download.

Re: Virus on Puppy Linux

Some virus scanners identify pnscan in Puppy as malware. Pnscan was part of the old PeasyPort app, but the official versions of PeasyPort (made by me) stopped using pnscan long ago.

Re: Setup works on some computers but hid_uclogic kernel boot error on others

Setting up the partitions properly did the trick.

Quick boot-ups now, and it boots on one of the not working PCs, so I expect the ones at work to boot up as well.
I had to go into the grub.cfg to change the pmedia to 'usbflash' so that the PUPPYMODE=13 not 12.

Thank you very much for the ...

Re: Setup works on some computers but hid_uclogic kernel boot error on others

Thank you for your insightful reply.

The most likely reason for this error is failure to extract dpupbw64save66.tar.gz to RAM - it could be corrupt, or maybe RAM is insufficient.
Ah! I'll see what the RAM is in the PCs that fail. But they do complete booting with no saved settings of course ...

This is information we always need, but this is not enough.
We need to know the exact full name of the Puppy version.
This could be:

Setup works on some computers but hid_uclogic kernel boot error on others [SOLVED]

Hello,

I installed BookworkmPup64 onto the first partition of a new USB stick, which was formatted to FAT32.

I followed the Frugal Installer: Puppy Button → This Puppy → sdf1
