I see # in my terminal and most commands that I find online
start with $. When I use $ I get error msgs and i've learnt to just
exclude it and start with the default #.
Just curious- what's that about ?

Tried with 2 other iPhones and two other cables. Reinstalled libimobiledevice/ifuse. The iPhone itself is not popping up the usual permission request screen, and ifuse is saying 'no device found' , and PupMTP says 'no device detected' so its a non connect at both ends. 2 Options as you said - it was on Keep Originals, I changed to Automatic but
still not showing up. I think it may be because I'm not connected to the internet.
I despise Apple most of all. I'll look around.

Large usage of space. ! I'm getting warnings about running out of space.
Thunderbird seems to have pulled a lot of files from gmail onto
the 32G USB stick. Just be aware. I will try 'Inboxer' soon.

After trying for a long time with the default Claws I gave up as it couldn't get past Googles authorization. I don't think the OP's request has been 'Solved.' He wanted some app to record audio from his speakers, ie from anywhere. (me too) Isn't this solution only for stations on GTX that will not record with its onboard recording/red button ? What about off some video on an internet news station? or ...

Bigpup- thanks for the nags - think I got the OS info on my signature now. I ran the ' cd ~/Downloads ' and it opened a bunch of files in a new separate folder in Downloads and gave a warning in terminal not to run it in root. What do I do now to access/open/run this app ? Does this note of yours ...

Gave up in my search for something Linuxy and simple and have had
to use Audacity -which I've used a lot but has an overkill of complex controls.

FFmpeg sounded good but I am too lame to get it running.

@HarveyH - I've done too much hopping around -going to stay with Bookworm for a while. The icons in the tray are terrible-need to be simplified, made more iconic, ie recognisable. and the setup windows/dialog boxes for time zone, network etc are very ugly and dated, other than that I am quite happy ...
