Re: how to install steam in Bookwormpup64?

I tried installing Steam through apt, but it didn't work. I uninstalled it and tried again with the official Steam download, same thing. Even using Flatpak didn't help. Turns out GDebi was missing, weird since it worked fine on my Debian 12 Bookworm.

Re: Looking for a typing tutor program for Linux

I've used some old Edutainment DOS programs via DOSbox (babytype, Mario teaches typing, a few others) many which can be found on abandon-ware sites (legal limbo....unless you have the floppies in your closet of "not obsolete yet" stuff ;) )

GCompris has some BASIC typing modules: https://www ...

Other uses for a WiFi slot in a laptop

Has anyone had any success with using the A/E key (?) type wifi slot in a laptop for ANYTHING other than a wifi card?

I've seen some video's and read some websites - just curious if any has any experience with adding an M.2 storage device or one of those cards that give SATA slots or USB headers ...

I had this issue earlier this year.

My screen-broken HP M$ windoz Laptop wouldn't boot from USB - and it couldn't run the Linux *.iso DVD's either (even Debian!!). The only USB options were to boot from an external CD drive or HDA. It wouldn't boot from thumb-drives no matter how you set the boot ...

Maybe, it's a function of the JWM window manager. Do know that right clicking the "minimize" button toggles shading, that might be what you're doing.
