Re: No Synaptics touchpad found - How to get driver?

Not that I think it is related but since converting from chromebook I have had one issue across all versions of linux tried. Running any browser, the CPU will go to 100% and the whole system will lock up. Some times it is right away and sometimes it will run for a while. I believe that model ...

Re: No Synaptics touchpad found - How to get driver?

Just double checking something against a similar issue I had on some models of chromebook - the touchpad would ALSO stop working under ChromeOS sometimes. Turns out the problem was hardware, not software. Either replacing the touchpad cable OR just removing it and cleaning both ends of the cable AND ...

@clm1919 Ventoy is a great tool and I use it often, not only for many Pups, but also for other Linux distros like MX and PrimeOS. Additionally, mine contains major system tools like Hiren BootCD, Rescuezilla and Memtest86. Forum member @Clarity is our resident Ventoy champion and has done much to ...

Re: Chromebooks (Run and install Puppy)

I've only done a little testing w/ the zoom app under linux (both puppy and Debian 12) and one problem I keep running into is the share-screen window going "solid black" when attempting to annotate - This only happens on the annotator's screen, the annotations go through normally to other ...

Pro's and Con's to App intall options

So i was reading up on the different ways to install apps on Puppy linux And i was wondering if there are advantages (or dis-advantages) to three of the options to add applications besides those stated in the description. Installed - usually a .pet or .deb file, click them and they will install on ...

mikewalsh Enjoyed the video, very informative - binged a few more of your vids during "coffee+oatmeal" time. :D Does it HAVE to be Zoom? Sadly it's what my relatives and my job use. Re: Kernels and chromebooks, Oh MY!

bigpup I truly appreciate the help and guidance in this project. I decided I needed to take some time to "try other things" after a few fallbacks.. -the SD card reader on PITA just doesn't really work - lots of errors because it just "stops" - PITA seems to "forget" that a card is inserted ...

Re: Kernels and chromebooks, Oh MY!

bigpup I am not sure why, you have to take SD cards, in and out, to get stuff done using them. Me neither - I suspect PITA just hates me :-P YogaPuppy works just fine from the SD card. but the ApolloLake entry on the chromebook compatibility pages all mention issues with sound and the sd card ...

Not sure if this is the right place to put this (I seem to start posts this way a lot) Since I have decided to put the "get sound working on PITA" project on hold - i decided to wipe PITA and do a fresh Debian 12 /LXDE install. Re: Linux on Intel Mac-Mini

How much RAM (memory) does it have? My parents gave me the machine early 2023 - I bought a 2x2 gig kit for it but the machine only sees 2gb - and the HDA reported errors - so it went back on the shelf for 18 months. Now that I'm motivated (again) to try to do something with it I'm trying to find ...

1 in pascal
1 in modula2
2 in C++

Re: Chromebooks (Run and install Puppy)

I asked the amazing Mr. @wizard about getting the yoga screen to rotate so i could use it in "tent mode"

Code: Select all

xrandr -o inverted

to turn 180 degrees

Code: Select all

xrandr -o normal

return to normal mode.

I added them to my LinuxCheatSheet.txt file :-)

Thanks Wizard!
