Re: YouTube and adblockers

The way I see ads is that I will never buy anything through an ad. It is a waste of resources to show me ads. So, you never buy name brand items in a store or online? You never look at the name brand item and think it is better than the no name item? If you ever think the name brand item is ...

Re: YouTube and adblockers

Personally, I never believe in 'never'. What we don't know is far more than we know. So when I see a good ad/info, I always respond, "Good to know." And it's always better to help the economy than never, ain't it? Maybe for younger people, but I've been around a while. I first got into computing in ...

The way I see ads is that I will never buy anything through an ad. It is a waste of resources to show me ads. Google is already making money off the data they have on me since data is a product now. As for supporting content creators, they usually offer alternative non-ad ways to support them. I can ...

Re: YouTube and adblockers

This whole thing with YouTube trying to force adblockers off the platform has made ublock origin a lot better than it used to be. As long as there is a demand for an ad-free experience (no forced ads), there will be people willing to make it happen.

Brave browser

This post is to confirm that the Brave browser can be installed and used on Bookworm puppy using the install instructions on the Brave website for Debian.
https://brave.com/linux/

When launching though, you have to use the command option --no-sandbox
I've not tested it with the spot user.

Re: riseup-vpn errors (BookwormPup64 10.0.4)

The riseupvpn pet doesn't seem to be working. After install and launch it says # riseupvpny Could not read certificate from /root/.riseupvpn/client.key Unable to load certificate https://api.black.riseup.net/1/configs/eip-service.json: 2024-05-02 00:19:18 ERROR 404: Not Found. https://api.black ...

Floorp browser

This post is just verifying that Floorp browser can be installed and works using apt on Bookworm64. The Linux PPA instructions at: https://floorp.app/en/download/ For other flavors of Puppy, might be nice to have Floorp sfs file or something. I'm still new so not sure how that would be done but ...

Re: How to install further software in BookwormPup? There's no apt.

I had the same problem with BookwormPup64_10.0.4. It wouldn't copy the bdrv sfs file to the installation. When I copied it over, the apt and synaptic showed up. Better yet when I went to use version 10.0.5, it worked correctly and apt and synaptic showed up I can confirm I was having this issue. I ...
