It's zarfy, not zarify.
Verify that the folder /root/.zarfy exists. It is normally created after the use of zarfy

Yes, it exists. Within that folder is a folder ":0" and within that folder is "outputs.conf".

Brightness and tint settings not automatic on reboot

Upon rebooting my previous Brightness and Tint settings are not applied until I actually click on the tray icon. Is there are way to have these settings apply during the boot process?

Zarify settings not persisiting on reboot after saving session

I have an external monitor permanently connected to my laptop and want my laptop screen to be off once the machine boots into the OS. Zarify allows me to do this but the settings do not persist. Within the same session if I run Zarify again it turns my laptop screen back on and the off checkbox ...

Re: having trouble with frugal install

Thanks all.

I tried copying and renaming the easy_5.7_amd64.sfs and ended up with a kernal panic when trying to boot into it. So I ended up copying the entire easyos folder from my USB installation onto my SSD and that worked perfectly.

having trouble with frugal install

The instructions for the frugal install say "Installation is incredibly simple. You just need to create a folder in the ext4 partition, and copy three files, 'vmlinuz', 'initrd' and 'easy.sfs' into that folder. Those files are inside the 'easy-<version>-amd64.img' file." When I open the USB drive ...

But... I found a trick:
In Settings > Downloads enable disable "Ask where to save ... ..."

Thanks Fred. That works perfectly and makes sense.

Did you end up using the portable version or the apt version and why?

Re: Can't download within Brave Browser

If you download something you are not seeing it in /home/spot/Downloads? I'm not able to initiate a download at all. If I click on a link to download literally nothing happens (and nothing appears in /home/spot/Downloads). I can download the same links in Firefox without issue. Maybe it was a ...

Can't download within Brave Browser (solved)

I'm using Bookworm and installed Brave Browser as per the instructions at Brave.com: sudo apt install curl sudo curl -fsSLo /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings ...

Best partition of SSD for Puppy?

My 120GB SSD currently is LUKS encrypted and has Fedora installed. I'm happy to get rid of Fedora and the LUKS encryption and become a full time Puppy user (including experimenting with multiple variants). The FrugalPup Help section says that I need an install partition and a boot partition and to ...

Re: Prevent suspend when laptop lid closed

Brilliant!

Thanks so much. I renamed the file to something random and could close my lid immediately.

BookwormPup: how to prevent suspend when laptop lid closed? (Solved)

Hi, I installed BookwormPup64 10.0.6 yesterday on a USB. I'm using an Acer Swift 1 laptop that has 4G of ram. I use an external monitor via HDMI and want to have the laptop lid closed when using my machine. Is there any way within Bookworm Puppy to achieve this? If not, is there another Puppy distro ...
