The problem is now refundant as I took a different approach to the problem.

What I did was use the "Internet/Get Web Browser" menu option and installed Pale Moon from an SFS file.

All fixed!

I realised that if I use the "Internet/Get Web Browser" menu option I was successfully able to install Firefox from an SFS file.

Hello all,

Am wanting to install Firefox on S15Pup64.

I search for Firefox in the Package manager and select mozilla-firefox-115.8.0esr and select "Do it!"

The install starts, whizzing past many commands then ends with a "Failed" result.

Any ideas as to why?

I installed palemoon web browser on a new hard drive frugal install of S15Pup64.

When it was installed the Package manager reported 2 missing libraries.

I fixed those by creating links to the files, which did exist within the palemoon folders.

From what I read, the stock B43 drivers don't support Dell and HP variants of wifi cards with Broadcom BCM4312 chipsets.

I did a fresh install of S15Pup64 and this time installed the PET file wl-64-updt-k5.15.148aoum-skip.pet (the last link in the first post in this thread).

The PET was reported as installed correctly.

I am unable to get S15Pup64 to detect the wifi card.

It's ok I got it fixed.

Seemed to be if I completed the Quick Setup from the Live CD, then performed the install onto the hard drive and tried to save the session, the problem occurred.

What worked:

Boot from the CD, ignore the Quick Setup, perform the install onto the hard drive ...

Another interesting thing..............

I tried to download and install the Palemoon browser.

It downloads the file but when double clicking the file, nothing happens.

I reinstalled S15Pup64 v22.12 and this time added the line in the grub2dos that was suggested by the install.

The same problem is occurring, the Quick Setup is being shown at every boot.
