Re: Easy trash

I can add the short cut. Screenshot(1).png but this seems fairly useless for single files. This is because I can't find a way of highlighting a file by using the keyboard. You can move an outline around a window using the arrow keys, but the only key that takes effect is 'enter'. which opens the fil...

Re: Compressing PDF documents

This link may help: https://itsfoss.com/compress-pdf-linux/

I tried the cli method and it reduced a pdf from 6372K to 4900K.

I've just tried the Appimage for the GUI (a frontend for the Ghostscript method), and strangely it results in a larger file even on high compression.

Why? I've never liked XFCE, and either avoid anything that uses it or ditch it for something else. Not a fan of Thunar either. I can live without JWM by the way - I have stayed with Openbox on FatDog, and have tried all sorts of window managers, but generally preferring the simpler ones. There are n...

You can do this in EasyJWM by changing the number of columns:

The script method in the Startup folder does work, eg:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh

mkdir /mnt/sdaX
mount /dev/sdaX /mnt/sdaX

In the following, the first line is when it is ON and the second OFF:

Code: Select all

xset m 20/10 4 c off r rate 500 6 s 0 600 s blank s expose
xset m 20/10 4 c off r rate 500 6 s off -dpms

Hope that helps.

The options for the config file are here: https://www.nano-editor.org/dist/latest/nanorc.5.html It looks like you can set a directory to save to, but I don't know if that works in the cloud: set operatingdir directory nano will only read and write files inside directory and its subdirectories. Re: What to do when new2dir make install does not work

I have used Rust as an sfs, but as has been pointed out, it will need updating from time to time (else things break). I used the rustup script to install it. There are just two folders .cargo and .rust (or is it rustc?), both in root, so easy enough to make a SFS, or just move somewhere else and sym...

Is the wifi module not loaded, or is it missing firmware? The script can find loaded modules ok, but the list of firmware is 'hard coded', so some is likely to be missed.

Right click on the background in a rox window (not on a file).
Got to Menus, then you should see it. Once you click on Keyboard shortcuts, it will give you the instructions I posted previously.
Don't forget to click the 'eye' to see hidden files.
