Re: How to install NVIDIA driver?

Which Puppy and which NVIDIA? Most of the more recent Puppys should have drivers for all but the very latest hardware.

What have you tried so far?

Can you split the 17-page files into smaller files with fewer pages? Print the smaller files separately, then combine their pages.

Re: ISObooter

Meanwhile, not a single community member who downloaded ISObooter has shown the courtesy to report if the new version works for them. That is par for the course quite often. I have had 101 downloads of pupit.sh and no one has ever commented one way or the other about it :-) I presume it must work ...

Re: How can I wipe a "Read only" flash drive?

Do you know what filesystem is or was on those flash drives? If they are unformatted, i.e., have no filesystem installed, or some weird filesystem not recognized by Linux, they can't be opened or mounted. What does Gparted say about them?

How were the menus and subcategories put there in the first place? They're different for each new Puppy.

Re: ffmpeg, how to normalize / change rate from 48000 to 44100?

Puppy used to come with a very powerful audio recording program. EasyOS doesn't have it. I can't remember what it's called, but I think it might be an easy way for you to do what you want.

Re: Editing of one's own posts; "last edited" message

If yours is the last post in a thread, then editing it will not cause the "last edited" message. The old forum was that way too. I for one appreciate that, because no matter how carefully I edit a post before I click 'Submit', I immediately see several mistakes after the message is up on the board ...

Re: File and folder transfer from Windows

To add to what everyone else has said, if you can get any 32-bit Puppy Linux running in the netbook and you have external storage of any kind (hard disk or flash drive), Puppy can easily copy files and folders from the netbook to the external drive. Then you can copy from the external drive to the ...

Re: How to bash sort files numerically correctly in awk?

Just to add to what I said about leading zeros, here's something I found while poking around in Pcdripper by Plinej: (Line 1780) ##add a zero before single digit track numbers if [ "`echo $TRACKS | wc -c | sed 's/ //g'`" = 2 ]; then NUM=0"$TRACKS" else NUM=$TRACKS fi Since CDs can have no more than ...

Re: How to bash sort files numerically correctly in awk?

The best way I found to do that is to add leading zeros: 01, 02, 03....10, 11, 12....etc. If there are more than 99 items, you have to add two leading zeros to the single digits and one leading zero to the double digits: 001, 002, .... 010, 020, etc. It might be possible for a script to do that. To ...
