Re: Easy OS multisession optical disc: how to turn the .img into an .iso?

@catacombs, there are lots of current Puppys that come as .isos and would work just as well as EasyOS for your purpose. Bookworm 10.0.2 is just one.

I like a large cursor too. I've only used FF and Chromium browsers. I found that if I install and then select for system use a cursor before I open a browser for the first time, the browser will use the cursor I want. If I open a browser for the first time before I install and select a cursor, the ...

How are you using EasyOS? (Frugal install, full install, what?) If you boot it from USB, it should automatically set the correct screen resolution. As a test, have you tried that?

Re: Fatdog64 size plans - How long do you plan to fit on a CD?

@Tag365, you might consider replacing your CD drive with a DVD drive. You'd still have all the advantages of running Puppy from an optical disk, plus a more robust multisession capability and far more room to save stuff.

Re: CPU fans cleaning .

If you replace a 12-Volt fan with a 24-Volt fan, the 24-Volt fan will run slower than the 12-Volt fan did and be much quieter. There are two things to consider if you're thinking of doing this. The first is whether the 24-Volt fan will start reliably at 12 Volts. Normally a 24-Volt fan will start at ...

Re: Burning ISO: how to burn a live CD/DVD of Raspup 8.2.1 img?

You don't have to make a multisession DVD, Puppy will boot either way. A multisession DVD allows you to save to the DVD. If you can't do it, don't worry about it.

Here, for instance, is an .iso of Fossapup. It's pretty big, over 400 MB, but give it a try.

Re: Burning ISO: how to burn a live CD/DVD of Raspup 8.2.1 img?

It's easy to tell if anything was burned to a CD-R or DVD-R: just look at the bottom of the disk. If anything was burned, the disk will look different, starting from the inner edge. This only applies to CDs and DVDs that were burned, not pressed. You can estimate how much data was burned onto a CD-R ...

Re: Vanillapup either refuses to create save or completely fails to create it upon restart (Solved!)

I don't know if Windows can do anything if it doesn't recognize the filesystem. It might be able to delete the save file. More likely the only option it will give you is to reformat the entire SD card to some filesystem Windows knows, like FAT32 or NTFS. You can boot your Puppy into RAM only ...

Re: Best way to extend USB cabling with as little signal loss as possible?

Mike, can you even find a USB cable long enough to reach the front of the house? If you can, or if you can make one, I'd say give it a try. The camera is probably made to USB1 specs, so its data rate isn't going to tax a good cable that meets USB2 specs, even for much longer lengths than tested..
