Take care of yourself @BarryK health is important so no undue strain on yourself.

I'm up there in years and have my good days and bad days and so on the bad days I just sit back and relax.

Perhaps worth mentioning when I powered up this desktop which had been not used for a bit it went to the install screen where it wanted me to choose the keyboard language.

It will do that if a change in hardware is detected. Maybe you changed the keyboard?

Just because a user may not care for a particular software doesn't mean that particular software wouldn't be a better choice for another user.

Okay I'm confused here or perhaps I just don't understand. (scratching head)

Why is Slimjet a better choice just because it can run in the background.

Chromium and Google Chrome can run in the background so why use Slimjet.

I don't care for any Google Chrome / Chromium clone browser and would ...

If guess you want pure privacy than most likely you will have to pay for it if paid privacy browsers even exist.

I've never checked in to paid privacy browsers so I have no idea.

@tammi806
If you put your wallpaper in /usr/share/backgrounds, then use Qwallpaper (in Desktop menu), it is automatically sized to fit the screen, keeping correct proportions.

If you look in /usr/share/backgrounds, there is a sub-folder, which contains the wallpaper correctly cut to fit the ...

Hello forum,

Okay in other Linux distros I've used I've always been able to change the fit of the desktop wallpaper I download and use by Zoom or Stretch or Center .

How does one do that in Easy OS.
Hopefully there is an easy way to do that.

Thanks in advance.

You seem to have a good grip on things.

At one time I was more trusting of people but no longer since my days in the Military.

As for social media I don't do social media websites.

Computer forums are the closet thing to social media I do.

So maybe it only affects SSDs and USB flash drives.

The error messages SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00... come from the command hdparm added for the detection of the trim capacity (https://bkhome.org/news/202501/hopeful-fix-fstrim-on-usb-ssd.html)
The hdparm used at this time is the version in initrd (in /bin) (version v9.58)
