Re: Xephyr another interesting feature

In Fatdog, OpenBox with LXQT panel, where that panel is set to be at the bottom of screen, with a 1366x768 laptop, connected to a 1920x1080 HDMI, when I launch Xephyr it grabs the full combined screen area, as though a 1366+1920 wide, 1080 height screen, when Xephyr is set to 'fullscreen'. Re: Comparing aufs vs overlay

Re: Swap partition slowing down the computer.

Hi. I have 4GB of RAM and also 4GB of Swap partition. As soon as the swap partition starts to be used, the computer slows down. The more the swap is in use, the more the computer is getting slower. What am I doing wrong? Should I deactivate the Swap partition? What will happen, if RAM is filled up ...

https://bkhome.org/news/202402/overlay-filesystem-is-still-a-disaster.html This is the error you get if you modify lower layers despite what the warning in overlay documentation says. aufs allows this, overlay doesn't. I am NOT modifying lower layers!!! A note about aufs in EasyOS. I have compiled ...

Re: aufs vs overlay

Overlay won't add and remove layers after boot like aufs will, so you wouldn't be able to load and unload sfs files on the fly. If/when the likes of brtfs (that uses copy on write, snapshots, compression etc) commonly supersedes ext then a btrfs device mounted with compression and populated, which ...

Re: SAVE Sessions - how does this work?

I note that from fatdog help • - “device” and “uuid” are subcommands (multi:dev:path:skip is equivalent to multi:device:dev:path:skip). • - “dev” is device where to keep the multisession savefiles to. If not specified, this will be sr0, presumably the first CD/DVD drive on your computer. If this is ...

Re: fatdog-control-panel.sh : default window open position

I kind of like the idea of opening dialogs at mouse position. However, as you experienced, one can easily end up with the dialog partially off screen, and have to drag it back on screen. That's not good. If the control panel icon in the bottom tray is clicked then yes, --mouse will have just the to...

A couple of issues I've noticed with twm is that if you suspend (close laptop lid) its good practice to first switch to another tty (such as ctrl-alt-F2) before closing the laptop lid, and then ctrl-alt-F4 back to the gui after you open the laptop lid and press enter to restore from suspend.
