Re: What is 'usrmerge'
Chelsea80 :- It boils down to one thing. Everybody else in the Linux eco-sphere has decided this is the way to go (once again, meekly following RedHat's decision). Because of this, in a few years time, you won't be able to download one piece of open-source software from anywhere that isn't written ...

Re: Slow access times....
Yes I agree that we are not singled out. Part of it is faulty program code in the Bots that seem to get hung up like the Knowledge AI Bot which only works with http: and will just begin to open thousands of page requests repeatedly without moving on to another target. Yah. And that's an issue that ...

Re: Slow access times....
Back to normal again, here. My thoughts on the matter are NOT that we were singled out on purpose, more that we were simply latched-onto purely at random.......just to see what would come of it. I don't really sense any malicious intent aimed specifically at this community; I just can't see a small,...

bigpup :- (Deleted violated terms of this forum) I don't use the Google drive very much these days anyway. It's now mostly older stuff, that not many people want any longer. I MAY need to start deleting stuff in any case, because I haven't got a lot of free space left there now. (deleted) I've star...

vtpup :- Well, it's good to hear you're happy with it. Don't thank me, however; the real work here was done by mmtrt , who built the AppImage.......and ultimately, of course, the boys & girls at Wine HQ who have been some real 'busy beavers' this last couple of years. As always, I just try to p...

Thanks Mike I've installed the 9.3 Wine portable, and really like it! Is it doing what you wanted it to do ? Most of my own Windoze apps are still 32-bit, though I do find the occasional one that insists a 64-bit is available, and to please install that instead. And then it quits on me..... At leas...

vtpup :- You would be better off using one of the current 9-series, Steve. I've put together a 'portable' version of WINE 9.3, and when the 'prefix' is created for these, they have the ability to handle both 32-bit AND 64-bit programs.....due to the inclusion of the SysWOW64 stuff. https://i.postim...

With earlier versions 11.1 and 11.2 enabling DRM (setting up Widevine) worked, not with the newest version 11.3.2 . Only works if you had enabled DRM on older version already (and updated to 11.3.2) , so that it is installed in the profile folder, not when you start with v11.3.2 "fresh". ...

There was one version of Puppy released with no browser in it. It had several browsers as pet packages, you could download and install from a repository.
