Huh. You're still on the same old track, aren't you, oui? PPM non-functional in Fossapup64 (won't load..!)
Morning, guys'n'gals. Now then. What's up with the PPM in Fossapup64? I go to start it, I get the wee splashbox saying 'Loading.....', and that's it. Splashbox sits there for ever, and nowt happens. I may have missed this in the old thread, but I haven't really got time to peruse 25+ pages of posts ...

What do you do if you do not want Firefox to be the default browser? If the Puppy version does not have any apulse in it? what do you need for apulse to work? My solution? Use the Firefox-portables. They have apulse built in, and are set to make use of it so long as you fire it up from the launch ...

I have to concur with 6502coder. Slacko 5.7/570 was built with Glibc 2.15. Firefox has now been compiled to work against, and require, a minimum of Glibc 2.17. Short answer is quite simple. Either you switch to a browser with lower requirements.....or you need to upgrade to a newer version of the ...

It seems a real shame to have to report this, but I'm giving up on Bionicpup64. And NOT for want of trying, either... Also worth noting, you can do a manual kernel change by simply replacing vmlinuz and zdrv.sfs with those from a downloaded kernel which you can find in the additional software section of the forum. ^^^ +1. Just remember this will work with any Pup, really, from approx Tahrpup onwards ...

Leith, there's a couple of other possibles. Instead of a direct cable connection, let's think "outside the box", shall we? Most smartphones utilise Bluetooth. You could transfer across to your computer via Bluetooth, if you happen to have it. The other way, if your phone uses a microSD card for ...

Thanks Mike I gave that a lot of thought. I'm sure it would have worked. But I decided to go with my original plan. Making the new USB bootable and set up the same (which has gone wrong for me in the past) is handled by the Puppy installer. Then saving away the new installation files and copying ...

Ian, here's a generic version of YAD 0.40, which I've used successfully with Slacko 5.6.0.....if you're interested. Can't remember which Pup I compiled it in, but it works with most of 'em. Your 'native' version will be a LOT older than this.

quasar :- Part of the problem may stem from the fact that you're using WINE64. This doesn't refer to your using it in a 64-bit Linux distro, BTW. Hmm, a machine that old, with that little RAM, you may not be able to boot a newer Puppy. You might be able to boot one of the derivatives, such as TazPup or CorePup, maybe even a Slackware based one, Try ScPup 32. However, getting it installed and booted may be all it will do, don't know if I ...
