Re: Windows 10 support post Oct 2025

I'd migrate to enterprise Linux as soon as possible. Micro$$ is running a racketeering ring.....pure extortion. And/or leveraging a forced upgrade for top Dollars. I posted a reply to a thread about this same subject less than an hour ago on BleepingComputer..! $61 for the first year $122 for the ...

Re: Lupu 525

My guess is that it IS to some extent hardware-specific. On this UEFI-based HP Pavilion desktop from 2019, my oldest "vanilla" Puppy is also 32-bit Tahrpup. There ARE caveats, though. 6.05 refuses point-blank to play ball. 6.06, however, will boot and run; this was the 'update' PhilB published for 6 ...

BologneChe :- Nah, no worries. It's a trap I see so many fall into, and it's frowned upon by most forum moderation teams. Some are bigger offenders than others; fortunately, you're not one of them. ;) Incidentally, following up on the link, that's food for thought; if Qualcomm's new top-end chips ...

BologneChe :- This was mentioned quite a number of times on the old forum, and in the past on here. PLEASE don't post JUST a link; TBH, it's just being 'lazy'. A little bit of description never hurts; you only need add a line or so. Some members will refuse to read a "link-only" post on principle ...

vtpup :- AFAIK, Steve - and from what I've gathered over the last couple of years - fdrvs are kernel-agnostic. In other words, they're NOT tied to any specific kernel compilation......because if that were the case, gyrog wouldn't have been able to release firmware SFS packages like he does... https ...

How to run Dukto R6 with firewall enabled..?

Afternoon, kids. Just thought I'd post a wee bit of info I gleaned about this last night. As those of you who use - or have in the past used - this utility are probably aware, Dukto is specifically built for LAN use only. It was never intended to work across the wider internet. Some LAN file ...

Re: Boot error message but F96-CE starts okay.

vtpup :- @ozsouth and @rockedge sorry but the new kernel didn't work with touchpad, wifi, or speaker sound. The procedure I used was a new install on USB using f2stickpup, then replacing vmlinuz and fdrv_fossapup64_9.6.sfs with the two new files, and renaming them to what was removed. I left ...

vtpup :- I'm a-wonderin', Steve. I agree that your hardware is SO new that the kernel hasn't had a chance to catch up yet.....but is your touchpad actually a "touchpad", or is it one of these new-fangled "clickpads" - buttons under the surface of the touchpad - with physical buttons duplicated ...

For most folks, getting the actual clock format right is a big enough challenge. Obsessing over the tooltip's format is for the true "nit-pickers" amongst us..... :D
