Re: Storing pupsave.sfs on seperate partition
I think, TBH.....ISO9660 formatting 'issues' aside......it simply boils down to the fact that traditionally, the 'save' - -file OR -folder - is usually placed directly alongside the Pup/Dog/whatever install (certainly upon 'first run'). You can always re-locate the save if you need to.......I've don...

Re: Nvidia graphics driver pet for Bookworm Pup64 10.0.3 and 10.0.4 versions only
trawglodyte :- I haven't really wrapped my head around a .pet already compiled for your kernel yet though. Those other methods compile the driver for your kernel on the spot. It would be kind of hard for me to tell anybody to click the .pet without making sure nouveau was disabled first, even if th...

Re: Nvidia graphics driver pet for Bookworm Pup64 10.0.3 and 10.0.4 versions only
trawglodyte :- I think that for most people, things they want to start or run at boot, or as soon after as possible, they're happy with these in /root/Startup. From what I understand of it, however, for stuff you need to run as early as you can, /etc/init.d or /etc/ modprobe.d seems to be the way t...

.....and having re-built my Xenialpup64 recently to use Fossa's k5.4.53 kernel, along with a jump from glibc 2.23 to Busterpup64's 2.28, I thought, "Just for the hell of it, why don't I see if Phil's nVidia .pet - built for this same kernel! - will install/run here in Xenial64? Yeah; go for it....

Re: Nvidia graphics driver pet for Bookworm Pup64 10.0.3 and 10.0.4 versions only
trawglodyte :- O-kay. I've done a bit of experimenting, and figured out what PhilB did with Fossapup64's offered Nvidia driver. I 'installed' the Nvidia driver to Bionicpup64 some time ago via shinobar's GetNvidia; all very straight-forward, as I recall. I wanted to see if I could reproduce that on...

Re: Nvidia graphics driver pet for Bookworm Pup64 10.0.3 and 10.0.4 versions only
trawglodyte :- I'd agree with ETP on the point he made further back up the page. Where I originally said you'd need the DevX and kernel-sources for installing via shinobar's GetNvidia, that WAS perfectly true.....because when running GetNvidia you ARE "building" the modules yourself at th...

trawglodyte :- With regard to "How much RAM is TOO much?", umm..... When I first started with Puppy 10 years ago, I was using an elderly Compaq Presario desktop, built just before the HP buyout that relegated Compaq to just a model name in HP's line-up. A sad end for an innovative company...

@Jasper :-
Thanks, mate, but I've given up on that idea. Fred's package works brilliantly well for my Google Drive a/c; out of the remaining two, MediaFire isn't supported, and MEGA won't let me connect. So THAT'S a "bust"...!
