Les Kerf :- Hmm... I'm starting to realise that opening a MEGA a/c may not have been such a good idea. A lot of people here seem to have issues when downloading from it..... I've uploaded the v7.0.3.1 LibreOffice 'portable' to my MediaFire a/c; this weighs in at a total of 286 MB. Since it's based ...

Re: Returning User (from years back) trying out new Puppies

Narvic :- As you're probably aware, it's always been possible to run 32-bit apps under a 64-bit OS by means of the 'multiarch' stuff (in 'mainstream' distros).....and by use of the 32-bit_compat_libs SFS in Puppies. But did you know that it's now possible to run 64-bit applications under a 32-bit P...

Re: How to update to glibc 2.38?

OscarTalks :- And that's the way I've always approached glibc upgrades myself; copy, then open up the main Puppy SFS, do whatever's necessary - there's no substitute here except to delete and replace, file by file, as is required - followed by re-packing and testing out. Re: How to update to glibc 2.38?

Hm. O-kayyy.... Examining the recompiled glibc 2.38, it looks as though the sym-link business has been done away with in /lib64. No "numbered" components at all; instead, each 'real' component is now labelled as its own soname. In fact, it's a trick I often employ myself when I need to add...

Re: How to update to glibc 2.38?

OscarTalks :- The other thing that looks wrong to me, Oscar, is that there's no version number attached to the key glibc components that used to sit in /lib (and which I suppose now sit in /usr/lib, sym-linked back to /lib?) I would expect to see - for instance - in /lib (or /usr/lib, sym-linked ba...

I guess it would depend on where it was compiled as to how easy it would be to turn it into a package. Is t...

Les Kerf :- I've tidied-up the LibreOffice directory. There was some older stuff there, plus some duplication; not always easy to keep on top of things - given that I changed compression methods a while back - especially with 3 cloud a/cs all containing 100s of items! So; go into LibreOffice -> 64-...

greengeek You can customize the JWM tray by editing: /root/.jwmrc-tray. Here's an example on BookwormPup64, the drive icons were moved using Event manager. The .jwmrc-tray file is attached and the first line was edited as follows: -deleted: valign "bottom" #this allows the tray to be move...
