The configuration command-line, compared to the run command-line ist different in one line:

-boot d --> with this we say to QEmu that we want to start the system from the virtual DVD-ROM drive, and not from the virtual HDD.

Is it intentionally omitted in the run command?

Most of the time not possible because simple lack of time with so many unexpected failures.

Just as examples, after restart and saving session, and having followed the instructions here to the letter, if I use the run command above now in the terminal, it replys: qemu-system-x86_64: -hda ...

i know there are some differences, but with virt-manager i had to have a package called ovmf installed to start using uefi. can you try searching for it in the package manager?

third restart of EasyOS and Firefox did resolve it. Firefox update and repeated restart did appealingly restore is profile, it works again on the new backup usb.

Now theoretically the VM should be running and you should be going through the usual Windows 10 installation process. It's up to you if you want to add a license Key to your new system. If you don't have any, you can obviously just click on the link I don't have a produkt key to skip the process ...

Only the firefox profile wasnt found, therefore I started the bookworm easyos version container, where it is preinstalled. So really only a minor inconvenience.

One can also use a LIVE version of GParted (not the installed version) to copy each partition in turn to a new device. I think one needs to make a partition table on the new device using Gparted. Its my method of choice.

Just now thought I asked too late about backup of functioning EasyOS. On startup, where one either press enter, wait for 15 minutes, or choose one of 4 options, the message appeared:

Delayed saving of session, please wait..

How on earth can that be, when a session is all but in RAM, that it could ...

Click on "save" desktop icon and tick the "Toggle-off session in RAM"

When one searches 'efi' in the EasyOS Pkg, one can see that efibootmgr-17-r3 is already installed. However, when typing 'efiboomgr' in the terminal the output is 'EFI variables are not supported on this system'. Is there a way to make EFI variables work in EasyOS?

If I understand you have installed Easy on an USB key through the .img file. It's the better way for a key.

Did you use the Save icon? One of the options offered is automatic backup at shutdown.

First install was by copy/paste from the image. For which to get it to work asked for help a few ...

Sorry, only seems to work with windows. However, there is a zoom setting to enlarge in chromium and EasyOS too.
