Re: Tutorial - Enable XArchive to extract and create 7Z archives

@ Caramel in order to uninstall a package, just open Menu --> Configuration --> PKGget Package Manager . The packages which have been manually installed will be listed in the lower right window labeled "Installed Packages". To uninstall any of them just click on it and the system will ask ...

Re: Tutorial - Enable XArchive to extract and create 7Z archives

Despite the fact that it's basically not possible nowadays to operate with a compression program which isn't capable of handling the 7z format, this was never meant to be criticism but just support for the users and eventually suggestion / proposal. I'm probably one of the most enthusiast persons he...

Tutorial - Enable XArchive to extract and create 7Z archives

7zip is one of the mostly used archive formats nowadays, probably because it's the one wich provides the best compression ratio at the moment. Anyways, I think that it's important to be able to extract any possible archive format, especially when using a system for surfing the Internet. I don't kno...

Re: French wikipedia has a different easyos

It looks like stuff of 20 years ago... the Germans would say: << französischer Schrott... >>. Jokes aside, It's probably abandonware nowadays: nobody remembers the thing, and it was just used by that french telecomm. company Neuf Cegetel ; not known by the public, really. Anyway, in the world of the...

Re: Difficulties installing EasyOS and some suggestions

@ Libertas Just go here: https://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64/releases/ and download the img file which corresponds to the version you want to install on your USB stick. Presumably easy-5.6.4-amd64.img . Then go here: https://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/download/ and download USB Image Tool . ...

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

@ Caramel

Oh well! It is the other SFS file Nvidia_5.15.138-390.157_amd64.sfs . Sorry I didn't know neither what that is for nor that there were already utilizers for that.

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

It looks like it's not supported by the driver itself: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/213920/en-us/ We are only talking about Nvidia RTX / GTX / MX cards here. Desktop graphics cards . Yours is a particular mobile video chip, if I'm not mistaken. That should require a particular ...

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

Ehm, the system should work in such a way that a red message appears during boot, saying that no Nvidia GPU has been detected and therefore the Nvidia SFS won't be loaded, when Easy is started on non-Nvidia hardware. When using Easy on Nvidia hardware, and the Nvidia card IS detected, no red message...

Re: The Nvidia driver in EasyOS is not loaded in Easy 5.6.4

Perhaps one solution would be, to solve the usb stick booting on different computers, for the 'initrd' to detect if there is no nvidia gpu, and if so then not load the nvidia sfs. Maybe in the 'init' script, run the busybox lspci utility: # busybox lspci | grep 'Class 10de:' Reference: https://envy...

Re: Osmo Calendar and Organizer not working properly

I bought my laptop in November 2020, at the beginning of the pandemics. It is quite fast for being an ultrabook (Asus Zenbook). It has a quad core Intel Core i5 CPU, with Hyperthreading. The output of the lscpu command follows: # lscpu Architektur: x86_64 CPU Operationsmodus: 32-bit, 64-bit Adressgr...

Re: Osmo Calendar and Organizer not working properly

Yes, I deleted my script and corrected osmo_tray . I rebooted the system twice and the X server 4 times: I confirm that it's enough to increase the timer on line 9 of the file osmo_tray on /root/Startup to 4 seconds, in order to get Osmo back working perfectly. But this looks like a bug to me: this ...

Re: Osmo Calendar and Organizer not working properly

on /mnt/wkg/.session/root/Startup there is a hidden file named .wk.osmo_start and it is empty. There is also the file .wh.keepassxc_tray , and it also empty. Then there are 5 non-hidden files, which are repetitions of what's already placed on /root/Startup. Among them there is also osmo_tray , conta...

Re: Osmo Calendar and Organizer not working properly

Barry, you know that I'm running v. 5.6.4 now since we have worked on the Nvidia drivers. I didn't do anything manually with Osmo. We have been having this Osmo problem for a long time now. At least I noticed it a long time ago. The point is that one doesn't need a calendar all the time, so that was...

Re: Compare your phone's CPU with other phones

Mine is still at place 24th, after more than 3 years. Frankly, it is and has always been absolutely overpowered. Thank you Amethyst. It looks like it worked. I added a script on /root/Startup containing the following code: #!/bin/sh sleep 3 killall osmo sleep 1 osmo and now I get the icon on the system tray: Screenshot(16).png and I can use Osmo normally. This must have to do with the order or speed with which...

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

I wouldn't like to say anything wrong but I'm not sure that the SFS is currently able to detect any Nvidia GPU. Surely you will also have to update the 'init' script like I did, otherwise the SFS won't work. I think that it's more helpful if you provide the output of the lspci and busybox lspci comm...

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

Ok, I'm going to try this.
Even if we don't manage to fix everything now, it would be nice to get it working again at least on one system, so that I can save an image file from Windows, and then we go on, no matter what happens.

Re: Tutorial - Install proprietary Nvidia driver in EasyOS

Going to try this all out immediately.
Will report.

I did not make any own SFS, the mesa package was already installed because of things I tried previously in the past for other purposes. It does not have any effects. All other attempts (nvidia-prime etc...) have also had no effects.

Thank you.

Osmo Calendar and Organizer not working properly

Hi everyone, the other day I bought a flight to visit my parents for Christmas, and I needed a calendar to count the days of my visit, since I also needed to buy parking for my car at the airport and the price is calculated per day. Now: I couldn't find any calendar on the system, and this seemed st...
