Strange to see that report. The Puppy Linux Users Group on Facebook is working fine:

Maybe it's just the other linuxes that aren't as good as Puppy....?

Re: SSD Drive Disappeared
Do you have spare drives to copy data to?
A few suggestions....
Run testdisk to copy files - it's good, but gives jibberish file names
I think photorec is better for recovering the files themselves
Perhaps you can use dd to create an image of the drive, and then try to recover the image ...

Re: What is USB-C good for?
I recently purchased a new PC with two real USB ports and a bunch of USB-C ports. So I purchased a couple of USB-C to USB hubs. They work great. The USB-C bandwidth makes the hubs work a full speed, and I have a whole bunch of USB ports now.

Re: 10 minue boot time? Frugal 96 CE SSD Laptop?
grub4dos on an EXT4 partition with a big initrd has a super long boot time. It is sorted by using the initrd-nano in Fatdog. Not sure about Fossa 96 and a solution.

I was foolishly thinking that because it worked before, it'd work now. How silly of me.

My old card is just crap

Re: NVIDIA Install Question
I suspect I know why
Following Clarity 's tip to follow don570 's instructions, I selected the Nvidia driver SFS for my machine. It doesn't work. I suspect it's because the driver in the SFS manager is for Kernel 6.1.46 and FD903 runs Kernel 6.10.2
Booting with the SFS loaded ...

I had a similar problem with an old eeePC. It wasn't always noticeable, but the colours were slightly off. My problem started on a flight overseas. The laptop got jolted around in my bag. A good hit on one side of it and everything came good. Loose connection somewhere.
