Hola a todos, Al final lo solventé al devolver la tarjeta Maestro ESS1978 al vendedor y muy amablemente me lo cambió por una tarjeta soundblaster del 2004, que es más moderna y del año en que fue construido el ordenador. De paso le agregé una tarjeta de expansión de puertos USB y un ventilador extra. ...

I follow your instructions before this post. I suspect is a conflict about kernel version and driver of sound card. This is my last chance.
Tody I will try to select the proper version of kernel and try to recopmpile the driver for ES1968.
