Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

@fredx181 @dimkr
Thanks for your help.
I got it working. I noticed that all the other files in both autostart folders were .desktop files so I followed dimkr suggestion and created a .desktop file and that worked.
This version of vanilladpup 11 is a little old version 99 from last January ...

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

Ah, didn't know, just now I tested on Vanilladpup 11, created folder ~/Startup, added a script in there and it runs ok for me after restart X. I just tried this and no go. I restarted the wayland and then did a complete reboot Would it have something to do with the script?? wlr-randr --output VGA-1...

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

Probably in /root/Startup .

Thanks Fred. However in Vanilladpup 11 there doesn't seem to be a ~/Startup. I can't figure out why it's not running. It works when I run it. It's just a one liner to scale the video so that I can see it.

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

OK I have been playing for a few days now and I am starting to get somewhere spacefm doesn't seem to have text color and the icons all look the same so the default layout makes it easy to click a script and have it run, which I have done. The best solution for this issue I can find it to use a detai...

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

I think I will leave the icons for now. It is easy enough to switch them one at a time. Going to work on a dark theme next. css I beleive I tried to get the workspace working. However I guess it is still busted in this version of labwc. I got the code from his git page but no luck. Am I missing some...

Re: Vanilla Dpup 11.0.x Development Builds

I finally got this to work.
You need the <windowRules> tag around the <windowsRule> tag

Code: Select all

windowRules>
   <windowRule identifier="firefox*">
     <action name="Maximize" direction="both" />
    </windowRule>
 </windowRules>

Re: Terminal tree Command Switches Don't Work

I got the binary from Fossapup64. It has the full version of tree
The binary is small only 84k
I just put it in my-application bin directory. Deleted the link to busybox tree in /usr/bin and created a link to it in my-application/bin

Re: Terminal tree Command Switches Don't Work

I'm using Vanilladpup and the tree command it a symlink to busybox.
To get the full version install it with apt or do as I did and use the binary from another pup with the full version.

@rockedge
I hate to say this... However I still am having slow access time on the forum. Sometimes 15 seconds to load a page. Also just now when I was mentioning you it couldn't fine a match for like 10 seconds.
I know you are working on this just wanted to let you know.

Firefox fingerprinting protection

Fingerprinting was originally used as a security measure. However now it is also being used to track you across the web and generate a profile. More info and a browser test here. https://www.amiunique.org/ Firefox has a builtin fingerprint blocker. However it is not on by default To turn it on open ...

@paperboy1994
I was going to suggest that.
I don't see an easy way to move it over as the 2 system don't play together well.
You have lots of room on your fat32 partition so make a big save file.
Good luck :thumbup2:

Re: Where did the frugal install put the .sfs files?

paperboy1994 I'm starting to understand. You are using the lick boot loader and have a frugal install of puppy on your sda7 fat32 partitions Here is the problem... fat32 is a windows partition and knows nothing about linux. So to work around this is on window partitions like fat32 of ntfs save file...

Re: Where did the frugal install put the .sfs files?

paperboy1994 Just to be clear. You say about it is a iso boot. However I thought from about posts is was a frugal install. If it is a frugal install it should work like this 1 grub boots and reads it's config file menu.lst or grub.cfg 2 The menu choices point at the puppy to boot like this... title...

@paperboy1994 Can you can boot puppy the way it is now?
If you can open rox filer and try this path /mnt/home
You should see all the sfs files and your save folder inside one of the folders there.

Re: Where did the frugal install put the .sfs files?

paperboy1994 If your drive is formatted to ntfs you can only have a savefile. Save folders can only be on Linux file systems. Try looking for your save file an the root of your C: drive or do a search of the C: drive for the name of the puppy you were running when you created the save file. Save fi...
