OK, nevermind - I worked it out. I should have used su to switch user. But now when I want to enable firewall while logged in as puppy i get a password prompt and I still don't know what it is.
If you built with MKLive Bullseye you should have set the password yourself, otherwise it's probably ...

I wasn't sure where to put noob questions about MKLive Bullseye, so move it if necessary.
I have been enjoying using DebianDog Bullseye created with MKLive Bullseye running off a usb stick using a changes.dat save file. But I can't work out how to switch from root user to puppy user.
