Re: UPX compression for application binaries/files?

Thank you for explaining this to me :thumbup:

I guess the application really is for developers who want a small file size to distribute their applications.

I did try it out as it came as binary. So your right that it saves a little space in the Save file.

@mikeslr

I did load your SFS and when I unloaded it, I was informed that it would delete itself.

Is that correct?

LOL, I had to download it again and put it away in a safe place.

How to format a drive so Windows and Puppy can share files? [SOLVED]

Hi all I must have read a large number of threads in the forum on how to install the OS onto a USB-HDD. I have an old laptop drive which has been gathering dust and thought it would be more useful to me instead of using even older USB flash drive :lol: One of many questions, I would like to know if ...

UPX compression for application binaries/files?

Hi there

Can someone let me know if it is a good idea to compress an executable binary/file using UPX before creating a PET application?

https://upx.github.io/

Thanks in advance

@geo_c

Thanks for the update :thumbup:
I did notice that only in a few folders there were single icons eg shutdown. But did not think too much about it.

Good work as always!!

Re: ehdd | A CLI tool to eject and shutdown your storage devices

Hi user1234

I have an external USB HDD which does not show up as a drive icon on FossaPup64 (PMount)

I do know it is available to me.

I thought I could use your application to unmount it until I decide to use it a future date.

I got an error message to install an additional dependency.

Re: Merging Adrv & Save File?

ozsouth Thank you again. It's just exactly what I wanted :thumbup2: I foolishly added a static FFMpeg binary and it used up a lot of my Save file. Forcing me to increase the size again. I use my OS for browsing and multimedia playback mostly. So, I don't plan on adding additional software. Your ker...

Hi Sofiya

I feel embarrassed about the comment I made regarding the unknown characters :oops: Apologies if you took offence.

Doh! Of course unrecognised fonts would of course look strange to me.

Thank you again for the fix :thumbup2:
