Re: KLU-jam Ubuntu Jammy-based
Hi @wiak love this little guy KLU-jam. Currently posting from it using portable ungoogled Chromium which I launched using the terminal.
Here are some questions:
1. Why don't portables launch jst by clicking the LAUNCH script?

Re: Some questions about using KLV-Airedale
Booted into AntiX. Oh... not very pretty
The following is for info on antix, so should be in other distros thread, but is here as a response to wiak.
I agree. I've been using antix part-time for about a month now, mainly because it works extremely well with my setup. Boots from cold to ...

Readability?
I'm red/green colourblind.
I don't know what colours are in MochiMoppel's version but it is painful to look at and not readable to me. The version peebee has seems fine as it is, but other colourblindness variants may say differently.

Re: Google-Chrome 'portable' 64-bit browser - (with updater!)
Tried and tested. I deleted the 3 optimisation folders after editing LAUNCH script as advised. ReLaunched and no new folders added.
Rebooted into fossa64CE and launched same browser. All good. No extra folders apparent. There is a very small folder named OptimizationHints, which was ...

Re: How I control type of memory suspend
I recompressed my FP64_CE main, ydrv, and zdrv files to gz from xz. Total time to working OS is now 17.0 seconds from on button-push to full OS. Recover from sleep is variable but averages roughly 5 seconds. Shutdown with no savefile is a second or two. This is on a 2nd gen i5 based lappie ...

Re: Google Chrome 'cast' issues in some variants of Fossapup. Can anyone explain the differences? (SOLVED)
Just tried in F96_4-radky6-CE.
Turned off firewall, and it found my smart TV. Turned on firewall, and it now finds smart TV. (Chromecast is not powered ATM).
The firewall status seems to be a solution.
Thanks.
Can be marked as solved.

Google Chrome 'cast' issues in some variants of Fossapup. Can anyone explain the differences? [SOLVED]
I use one copy of portable chrome for various puppy installs and KLV_Airedale. mikewalsh this is such a great gift.
I use the built in "cast" function regularly. This is found in the chrome menu.
My Smart TV works with this ...

rc10 working nicely. Save file now remembers muted sound as well as desktop shortcuts. Thank you.
I have a wish.
As you've developed KVL_Airedale I have noticed boot times to working desktop increasing. The best I had was beta16 with 35 seconds and over time this has now increased to ...

Is it because your windows programme needs to interface with a browser? (or vice versa) i.e it expects explorer?
Have you tried Portable edge browser to see if that helps?

Yes, that is what I have done. I'll experiment with sub-folder again, maybe didn't leave long enough to boot. Thanks for link too. I'm learning about differences of dog v puppy. Having fun.
Maybe questions later, but will search forum first.

Re: How to frugal install DebianDog?
I hadn't realised that the live folder, as part of the structure, was important. I moved everthying into live inside bdog, but grub2 boot failed (unless I didn't wait long enough ?).
I re-copied the original live folder into a live folder on my sdcard, i.e. not inside bdog folder. Redid ...

Re: How I control type of memory suspend
Marv
I have managed to do normal suspend on many pups/KLV/KLU/fatdog64 using the echo -n mem >/sys/power/state script. If I don't close lid, I get minimal battery loss overnight for some but not all (could be kernel dependent). When I close the lid ...

Suspend works and laptop lid seems to be ok (no reboot on opening), but need to test longer.

Ram useage level ok.

But, don't worry, per usual if a distro I release isn't used, gets hardly any feedback, or is objected to, I don't publish it further and keep it in my house! Too much work otherwise. Weedogit basically went that vanishing way for that kind of reason, though it may become available in ...

@rockedge This is a very fine distro and I enjoyed testing it ....until I realized that it doesn't run stable on my old HW. Quite often it would awake from suspend with a black screen, requiring a hard reset.
On the other hand the plain FP96 with a 5.4.53 kernel doesn't show these ...

Re: How to stop puppy from automatically connecting to WiFi at startup?
My guess only.
If your network manager doesn't have a check box for auto start, try deleting the network .desktop file in ~/Startup/autostart. In my Fossapup it is netmon_wce.desktop.
Tell us which network connect app you have used if that doesn't work.
