I heard it was under developed. yea/nay pls.

I get sound but with constant interruptions. I guess it is because the device emitting the bluetooth signal is an old model bluetooth V2.0 EDR Class 1

Link for my nicOS-AudioBook-Creator package here: viewtopic.php?p=15274#p15274 and download a Spanish voice from here: http://www.zero2000.com/files/lhttsspe.exe. You need WINE to use it.

Reading and testing recommendations. Thank you.

@Amaponian :- A wee bit of searching on-line found the following website;- https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/ Very natural-sounding voices - frankly, far better than any desktop app you could get under Linux. (I don't know about "pro" apps like Dragon Naturally-speaking ; this is a Wi...

Which Puppy? Always tell us Which Puppy --there are thousands, with about two dozen actively supported-- and what applications are available --and how you get them-- will vary from one Puppy to another. Also, what type of 'text' files do you want to listen to. Some applications work with 'txt' file...

Online cloud-based text to speech. Haven't times changed... used to be robot sounding voices like via espeak or flite. However, don't you feel uneasy that all this power relies on being 'connected' all the time in this fibre fast internet world? Voice recognition, facial recognition, chatGPT, and s...

Is there a text reader (text to voice) in Puppylinux?

If that tool exist, can it read Spanish?

It we don't have that, is there a free tool online to do that text to speech reading?

@Amaponian I think it will work if you take an ethernet cable and connect the router with Internet connection to the MERCUSYS WL3000 router. Like in the example:

That helped. I thought those were outlets only.

MERCUSYS WL3000 can take a WiFi signal?

I have a modem/router model Mercusys WM3000. I bought it planning to use it as an extender of an existing WiFi signal, I used to do that with another router. I can't find a way to do that with the new one. I'm starting to doubt that can be done with the new router which is more advanced than the old...

Reason: echo test pipes test + a trailing newline to sha256sum
Try
on a website: test
and
in terminal:echo -n test|sha256sum
or printf test|sha256sum

Now everything makes sense, thank you.

Thanks for all that useful information. Now I'm sure I used the fourth option, where the 'ISO' and 'USB' words are. First I need to know this: Did you format to ext4 using Gparted in some version of Puppy Linux? How exactly did you do the install to the USB? Sorry for the delay. I was busy and, also, I have doubts about the way and order in which I prepared the flashdrive for the install. But there's only one op...

Incredible: I've just solved the problem this way: 1. Read the error on screen (probably I never payed attention to this) 2. Put a copy of the grldr file on the root directory of the flashdrive. (Here the thing advanced a little more: It asked for a grub / menu.lst file) 3. I created a grub from my ...

No way to solve this, even reinstalling a clean Puppy, using an old version of Google Chrome or using my old keyboard. Nothing works, a real challenge to common sense. I had to decide whether to move back to Palemoon or write things in Geany and paste them into Chrome.

I did it and the sound disappeared again. I only realised that after I rebooted (which I did a day later). Definitely the device number used by the card is 0. I learnt a little more, thank you.

Retrovol is in the startup folder. At boot it is in tray, but I'm sure sometimes it doesn't appear. Let's not worry about that, since now it seems to appears all the time.
