Re: Vanilla Upup 22.04.61

Have to ask. Is it ok to ask Puppy related questions in this forum ? It sounds like that discussion goes immediately heated when it is reminded that this Puppy Linux Discussion forum is also Puppy Linux Discussion forum. Time for the poll ?

Re: wifi problem Dunfell 4.5 - solved

Rerwin created diagnostic tool called pdiag about 2013 and it was added to the woof by Barry Kauler about Precise Puppy time. I still have it in Quirky Werewolf, posting from it. But when I launched easy os, older version, it wasnt there. It looks like it has been droppod out from Barrys nowaday ...

Now checked the first boot. I remembered the sequence wrong. X fails to start. With lsmod, amdgpu.ko is loaded. Radeon.ko is not loaded. @retiredt00. Something in that suspend.sh script prevents the suspend. I had that problem too. I just downloaded acpitool. And I have in that script only this: acpitool -s.
I use acpitool -s also with cbatticon to suspend when battery is low.

Re: Kernel sources - built-in or not?

First. I agree with mavrothal, that disabling subversion is not a good idea. Second. If it is possible to include kernel source sfs subversion check to the updater, it would be enough for most users. Like a question during the update: kernel is now version 6.1.99, do you want to download kernel ...

I suppose that you replace the row rootnoverify (hd0,1) with uuid of the boot partition. I believe grub supports uuid as well since 2009 as spesifying boot partition. Blkid in terminal displays the uuid names of every partition and also PARTUUID I used in the kernel row. I just copied the example by ...

Re: Chrome, Vivaldi in VanillaDPup 9.1.x

You'll need to run them as spot, they refuse to run as root (that's normal, true for any distro). Not true. /usr/local/petget/hacks-postinstall.sh takes care of that for vlc and google-chrome-* using bbe to remove root restriction. The script is not updated for --no-sandbox: exec /opt/google/chrome ...
