@williwaw, you are right. After second boot, I can adjust background as expected.
Another thing I noticed, not sure what's happening there (see attached screen shots),
Geany toolbar icons vary in size, quite a bit, the same thing in Rox Filer?
Have you tried the DEL(elte) Key?
Maybe F8 or Esc.

Just saw release notes on 4.5.3.
Maybe the msdos Boot-Partition is responsible for capital letters showing up as lowercase
letters. Does not really sound plausible? Just a thought.
Just wanted to mention, blkid gives me SEC_TYPE=msdos for Easy Boot and
the Boot Partition I created, just checked it.

Looked for EZOS on sourceforge. Looks to me like that the guy's name is "ezoz".
He calls his distro Ezarcher (based on Arch Linux).
Maybe I am missing something. Didn't download and test it. Unfortunately
no screenshots.

The colors can be easily changed, it's just one object,
except the one with the arrow, that would make it two objects
