Just out of curiosity, what happens if you run the "file" command on one of these files?

Should be

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i input.wav output.mp3

For example, see viewtopic.php?p=238#p238 and viewtopic.php?p=238#p238 Puppy 4.31 predates the creation of Woof.

Thanks for the info.

then problem could be not enough free space, needs at least 3gb (your savefile only 1gb as I understood).

Even after i increase savefile to 4gb i got the same error !

Answer: just put the ydrv*.sfs into the same folder as the other pup components (puppy*.sfs initrd.gz vmlinuz zdrv*.sfs etc.) and reboot.

There is not XFCE for FossaPup64 !

Try to find out what filesystem type your USB is, if it's other than a Linux filesystem (e.g. FAT) then it's NOT going to work as it should.

,
The USB is FAT32 but the save file ext4.

Re: How to decrease savefile size if FossaPup64

bigpup wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:33 pm

The save file is not really designed to go back and forth constantly changing it's size.

ok, thank you for the other useful information.
what i did is:
make a compressed backup of save-file before i increase the size
when want to go back just decompress the backup and voila !

So did you try not using the adrv.sfs and installing MPV player?
If yes and it works.
Is that what you wanted or even smaller?

yes i did remove adrv_ then download latest mpv media player
and yes it work but it is still big
I'm sure there are many stuff i can remove... still testing
