Re: New 32 Bit Puppys for Low RAM

this is frustrating:
clicked on video,
video begins,
clicked on 'watch here',
could not find 'save settings'
while looking, closed video.
restarted video,
could not find 'watch here'

Re: RAM Demands of Relatively New 32 Bit Puppys ?

If watching youtube videos is the main issue, the best thing to do is to avoid visiting the youtube website at all because it's extremely resource hungry. Watch youtube video via the players in DuckDuckGo or Bing. With everything streaming concerned, chromium based browsers works best for me. With ...

well thanks anyway, i knew the opera story. it can sleep in its kennel 'til another website declines palemoon33 . the simplicity of palemoon's interface is so satisfying, time after time. it was fun to do something with gparted again. superb utility. readily usable by novices. thanks again, mr. mike...

Re: Opera Portable Browser 64 bit version 108.0.5067.20

thanks mikew both for yr ok on scheme and offer to custom fit. i'd prefer to put the whole os onto an ext format usb but once this imac is happy to boot an os i like i'm loath to make any changes. i've spent hours trying to get back a setup i'm not sure how/why it got lost. the firmware underneath i...

no wiser voice has said bad idea
so i'll try shrinking the fat32 partition
to make room for a new ext3 partition
where opera will go. i've learned not

nail on head, mikew! my ommission. a few years ago the hdrive on a big imac i'd been given quit. precisepup 571 had been a perfect fit for several years so i put pp571 on 32 or 64 gb usb. kept on keeping on. i bet i used fat32 for ease of something i've never used. if it's possible, would it be wise...

Re: Opera Portable Browser 64 bit version 108.0.5067.20

thanks mikew. i deleted all obvious traces of the problem opera. properties of /lib64 feb 2019, 0 bytes. it symlinks to /lib 15 march 2024, 232 MB /lib contents look like system files, hdparm for example. not opera files, though the date puzzles me i'm not losing sleep over it. off to see if mega ac...

Re: Opera Portable Browser 64 bit version 108.0.5067.20

hi

i only have bionic64.

i only d/l opera because
the online income tax service
i use doesn't like palemoon33.

i find opera way too sophisticated
for me, although i was a big fan
from version 3 until 13.

palemoon is fine for my needs.
