i still had the midori 11.4.3 tar.bz2
in my downloads folder. extracted
it into /opt. then extracted 'distribution'
into the fresh midori folder. starts &
restarts without a problem.

it looks like midori 11.4.3
has updated itself to 11.5.x
it ran well but now won't start.
there is a lot of entries in the
update log
can it be rolled back to 11.4.3.
fortunately, balisk is working.

it has passed first hurdle: opening
the midori 11.4.3 asset list so i can
d/l the 32 bit version.
both seamonkey and light paused
with spinning wheels at the asset link.
question: how does an Appimage work?

Midori Browser d/l but not start...
running jammypup32.
downloaded midori [.tar.bz2 de 32bits]
did not see checksum.
unpacked into myapplications.
clicked on midori folder there.
clicked on cog midori, nothing.
clicked on cog midori-bin, nothing.
tried unpacking to /root/desktop
'unpacked with one error'

that booting bionic64 onto a
linux file system a good thing,
it was also to see if it made a
difference to the super slow
portable browsers.
it did not: portable palemoon,
seamonkey, googlechrome all
are useless, i'm deleting them.
will try fresh others if needed ...

down bionic64 -ram- i was offered a
save option. named it xxx-sda7, put
it in sda7. watched it load. then pow,
perfect recreation of previous bionic.
on ext3 instead of fat32. let's see
if those slow-poke, anchor-emulating

happy to do so.
just booted to ram for bionic on sda1],
[hid the savefile. tried google chrome.
flashy opening could not do anything
except make cpu load lines. made it
go away. but palemoon leapt into tasks
while lots of load lines left over.]

went okay. when it opened a dozen lines in
cpu monitor appeared. behaved like an anchor.
i'm going to find mikeslr's remaster of bionic64

bionic 64 ran very well until a few
weeks ago when browser became
so slow. os tasks like text, image
editing, were speedy as usual.
so happy to try yr remaster.

so i tried putting bionic64 on a freshly formatted
usb drive. i used gparted to copy my first install
attempt & paste it to the new usb. gparted found
and corrected 6 or 7 errors ...

over the last couple of months
three different portables:
opera64;seamonkey64;palemoon64,
have d/l-ed, check summed, started ok.
all have immediately piled up lines
in cpu load display and run so slowly
as to be unusable.
the os is bionic 64. its own operations,
