Re: Extralibs for firefox & Seamonkey - Maybe needed for Sound

hi mikeslr Thanks for posting the extralibs info. The advantage of portable browsers is that you can delete the portable directory and profile with a mouse click. However there is another method which I sometimes use to enable sound in ff and sm. No credit to me but you need a copy of the apulse pet...

Re: Glibc upgrade continues to report "old" version....? (SOLVED)

Hi @mikewalsh and everyone else. I had been tinkering with mike's palemoon portable. I came across this post when I searched for the version numbers for the files used in the portable version. To start wuth; I booted up just the palemoon directory in safe mode in tahr 6.0.6. Only 3 files were needed...

Re: Firefox 79 (Precise 5.7.1) Updated!

amethyst That is how I ran ff110 in safe mode from the termin al. The error messages are non specific. ff110 is the start of a new series. ff100 series will not boot at all on my updated precise even in safe mode. Note also that ff100 series freezes laptop using tahr6.0.6. Much earlier post in this...

Re: Firefox 79 (Precise 5.7.1) Updated!

amethyst Just to clarify ff110 works perfectly well on tahr6.0.6 so far. But as firefox needs a minimum of gtk 3.14 to even load I am surprised it runs at all in tahr6.0.6 or my precise updated which are both gtk 3.10.8. This leads me to think that the gtk3 version is not as critical as some of the...

mikewalsh amethyst Very interesting that ff110 will run in tahr6.0.6. So I downloaded ff110 tarball extracted the firefox directory clicked on firefox and it works. Not mikes portable version, just the extracted tarball, even though tahr6.0.6 has gtk3.10.8. Now it is the standard tahr6.0.6 not the ...

i find with some websites, using firefox, I can view the image online. The url says it is a .jpg but when I download the file it has mysteriously turned itself into a .webp. My solution if I want to view the image offline is to convert the image using xnconvert. The .deb file is availabke here;- htt...

Re: Firefox 79 (Precise 5.7.1) Updated!

@amethyst

Yes the experimental version in the post above was ff102.4esr, But in order to do that some features become disabled. So more work to do.

Trying to get FF99esr to work requires GTK3-3.10,8.

I will try to sort out a cleaned up sfs.

amethyst Hi, The iso for precise571gtk3-3.10.8ff91.9esr.iso is 454mb including 3 extracted browser tarballs.
